From a DV survivor I call this bs !!! Any know eveyone is different but my experience I almost got killed with my own baby in my hands I’ve lived through hell and this lady is making us true victims look and sound crazy smh. 🤦‍♀️

I saw a 48 hours episode on this. I think it was called the Black Swan Murder. Anyhow, this woman seems to be a massive liar and manipulator. When the domestic violence bit didn’t work she went next level and shot him “in self-defense.” Very sad.

48 hours actually covered this case in great detail. I personally think she killed him not in self defense. She’s the type of person to lie and manipulate the situation to get her way. She made baseless claims of him physically abusing her and poisoning her. She’s really a narcissist.

I listened to this case. I believe she is guilty, married for money.

Why do perfect strangers protest when they don’t know whether she’s guilty or not? Seems crazy

I agree with the judge that she does not have credibility, if she does not show any proof she should never be believed, my ex accused me of DV during the custody trial obviously to get the custody without any single proof despite that I was very nice to her and I supported her financially to earn her degree, people should understand that not only men are abusive but women are also abusive and they always blame the other side for whatever wrongdoing they do

I couldn't be on that jury because my mind was made up long before the case went to trial. I had heard of this case long back, and even watched an episode of a crime documentary, can't remember the name, but it was their story and I kept shaking my head, in disbelief because I didn't believe her version of what was being narrated in that crime documentary. Now, let's see, if I was wrong back then for judging her not innocent!

Yo panel, we supported Karen Read because we heard evidence and completely dodgy investigation. This is not the case with Ashley.

I haven't followed this case at all but hearing about her being in the car and how he was being eratic and verbally abusive while driving and how she responded triggered so much pain and horror for me. I went through EXACTLY the same thing. I was praying during a 3hr drive to get to my mom's safe (and I'm not even religeous). Turns out my husband was going through a bipolar mania phase which we didn't even know he was suffering of. In general, the screaming, threatening me, my family and my dog, being destructive towards the house and once pinning me to the wall and putting his hands on my neck is what I went through for 9 months until I left my whole life and came to my mom's home. My situation had a good ending though. After he seeked mental help and is taking his medication, he became the fun loving husband I knew before all this happened. I took him back and to this day, besides a couple of mania episodes that we handled and managed right away, we have been ok. I would love to follow this case but I don't think I can because it is too triggering and I'm scared I'll go down bad memory lane and re-live my horror story. Thanks for letting me vent.

(All news sources are identifying Ashley Benefifeld as a "ballerina." I cannot find any evidence that she ever danced with a known ballet company and the only ballet company mentioned in news articles is the one she started with her husband's money and featured "plus-sized" dancers.

The defence strategy of presenting zero evidence or witness because “It’s the prosecutions burden” just really screams the defence has NO defence. And her running to the neighbour and coaxing him to respond to her with ‘I know, it’s not what it looks like’ Is a manipulation on her part. If she didn’t want to shoot him and didn’t want him to die she would have instinctively called 911 in a panic screaming that she needs an ambulance right now. Instead she did the classic narcissistic helpless doe eyed trick which serves to illustrate her victimhood - automatically pulling people in to be her “helpers” And when she talks about him talking about being angry and having killed people before was to me very eerie and felt like she was talking about herself.

She has so far been accused of ‘complaining’ all the time by the 15 year old, while he has admitted to the following: punching and throwing pets, punching holes in walls, breaking glass dishes, wielding guns, threatening to ‘blow his head off’ with BOTH wives, tracking vehicles, hiring people to follow her…just because this guy was on good behavior around his kids does NOT mean he wasn’t abusing both his wives. That man punched the pet dog to the point it lost consciousness, he threw their pet cat against a wall. He shot his gun in the ceiling right in front of her. He constantly threatened violence. He punched walls and put trackers on her car, etc. Gross abuser.

Emotional abuse is just as damaging as physical abuse although I would argue the aggression displayed in front of her is physical. This has nothing to do with Karen read. I mean really vinnie? This is a state where a man shot an unarmed black man for wearing a hoodie and got away with it, but a woman with a long line of proven emotional abuse by her husband is going to have to go to trial for shooting her husband in self defense.
