He's actually not telling anything. The guy is full of shite. With such a dummy in the CIA, I'm not surprised they are completely unable to get any useful intel at all.
What do you think an ex-CIA agent actually does? Many like to present themselves as self-described 'experts' but they're scared to death about revealing something that's not already public knowledge. They don't want their life ruined so they tread very carefully. Anything that's not public knowledge leaves them vulnerable to prosecution. And the agency itself can continue with blunder after blunder unchecked, with an unlimited and top secret budget that even the president isn't privy to. They obviously fumbled the ball here, and keep getting rewarded for being asleep at the wheel for 911 and literally not knowing about the Berlin Wall falling until we did. “The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings...And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment.” --John Kennedy
When western leaders say Russia's war in Ukraine breaks international law and is horrible. They are correct. The problem is, when they call Russia or China thugs or Criminals, Russia and China do not care. Why? Because if the Nuremberg laws and international laws had been applied and enforced since WWII. Almost every world leader, including western leaders, would have been hanged for crimes against humanity. But since America has a monopoly on military strength, and economic influence, they can just tell international organizations to side with them, to approve of their wars. So even if Russia is a street thug, as we imply. The west is the Mafia. And abuses their power globally and against their own people. Don't get me wrong, it is still better to live in the USA than elsewhere. It's still richer, and more free than Ukraine or Russia, for example. But America has spent decades playing world police, while breaking its own rules. And now that it is weak, the other thugs are out for blood.
His answers are razor sharp and to straight the point, it's excellent analysis and exactly what I would want from an analyst. Better than anyone I've seen on the news. What do people think he's saying nothing - what are they expecting to hear?
And I think he's having a laugh at Joe and us the audience too. Like, "let's pretend to talk like we're still in the 80s, and watch the audience go apeshit over it."
the guy mostly stick to the truth. Putin was in East Germany when Soviet Union and Soviet Sphere of Interest collapsed. And he all the time has been feeling phantom pain. He wish to reestablish Russian as Imperium with borders wherever Russia in the history of the world had control. You can hear it recently said by Medviediev, Soloviov and most of people in charge or in press in Russia.
Definitely; his rationale about Putin being a 'warlord' while completely ignoring the 'merican buildup of Ukraine, the color wars and so forth is class A level deception. This spook is still a spook.
Ikr? I feel like this is a way for the CIA to get more people on their side. Have a "former" CIA agent go on podcasts and all that to try and convince more people that they are the good guys.
I am very thankful of the CIA and their honesty and integrity. I'm especially grateful how they've never interfered with foreign governments, or our own government, for that matter. Oh, wait...
They tried to fuck over the British Governments influence in the Middle East, Africa,India etc.Their so called 'Special Friends.' I don't believe a damn word I hear anymore.
Presumably you are absolutely disgusted by the removal of facism in Japan, Germany and Italy too and their adoption of Western Democracy. How dare we interfere and remove these regimes so they can have a chance of living the way we take such granted for.
@@odd6554 interesting that you are comparing the 1940s to the present. And you're neglecting to mention the egregious actions from our government agancies with other Asian, South American, and Middle Eastern countries/governments. And those freedoms the you mentioned, in case you haven't noticed, are being eroded and stripped away from us. But good thing we got those Weapons of mass destruction out of Iraq and won the war on terrorism in Afghanistan...it only took 20+ years. Oh, wait...

It was a miracle. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, among others, were liberated. Ukraine finally got independence for the first time in its existence. The collapse of the Soviet Union was one of the most wonderful things to happen.
@@markheithaus40% of Baltic population fled the countries after 1990s. Yeah, that’s a clear sign those countries started flourishing after liberation 😁
@@tripleg8381 Estonia is doing great, and I'd be curious to know how much of that population that fled were ethnic Russians. This isn't to say Russia or Russians are bad. I lived in Russia and I love it, but the memory difference is extreme between Russia/Belarus and everyone else. The Baltic states aren't Russia. They were invaded in 1939, being occupied by the Soviets, NAZIS and Soviets. Ukraine isn't Russia. Kherson isn't Russia.
@Triple G Yea. Do you know why they fled? Is it A) Because they hate capitalism or B) Because they have been forced to stay in their own country anf starve. Hint: It's not that complicated
@@tripleg8381 yes, they are flourishing. Russia destroyed my country’s economy, yet we’re catching up to Finland now. Mind you we were bigger economical power than Finland before the occupation of the Baltic states.
This is the best analysis on the subject. Remember: In 1990, Germany was unified on the premises that NATO (USA) would never go in East-Europe and Ukraine remove all its nukes... today NATO is at the Russian border.

Bingo, Cornpop. I think it was Robert David Steele (former CIA also) said pretty much this. I didn't trust him for a long time either, and I'm still not sure I do, but I definitely don't trust our cia, which is kinda sad, because I have a feeling most of the country probably feels the same way. Meanwhile, they advise in the making of movies about cia going around doing whatever they want, offing officers who get cancelled, blowing shit up, disregarding all laws, common sense, and public safety, etc. They see themselves as untouchable, because unfortunately, they pretty much are, and I have massive doubts about their motives for anything they do.
Exactly. The CIA had and still has a retirement problem. If someone retires from the CIA they will not talk to you about there job, period. I had a grand dad who was in the CIA and didn’t even know till he died and my grandmother fucking told me! Still no idea what he did, she doesn’t either. If they are calling themselves “former” or “retired” they are actively working still. Yes unfortunately you can not trust the CIA. The things that organization has done, without oversight or reprimand is fucking diabolical. Honestly makes me sad.
Sphere of influence doesn't necessarily mean control that land geographically but having influence in that area. Like having influence with heads or high up people in that area.

The expert just made clear that they hawe no real intell on Putin or China or ....others!! Just tell the truh...no one belive CIA or US diplomacy on international stage!! They just try to hide this
Why does Rogan even have people like this on who don't know what they're talking about? A former janitor probably knows more about the Ukraine conflict than Mike.
Right! The CIA literally bought Ukrainian SS members to the US after WW2. The exact same guys that rounded up over 100k people in ukraine that they thought were undesirable and killed them. The same CIA that funded terrorist in libya and destabilized to the point they have slave markets. Stop having this turd on ur show. That, or hit him with hard questions.
Let me help you, he said this was a long time coming since the fall of the Soviet Union. Putin comes from a different view of the world and he wants Russia to have influence. He doesn’t think Putin is crazy like the Media insists he is.
At this point you're just ridiculous if you compare them with Putin. It's not even funny dude. Hundreds of innocent people are getting killed and bombed every single day

Exactly, who has always been "increasing their sphere of influence" by carpet bombing countries to the ground in illegal wars against countries that don't agree with what the US wants. Then puts civilian crippling sanctions on them. Well .........................it ain't Russia! And lets not forget the US little helper of sh it stirring England.
What does this have to do with anything? It's like you people hate the fact that he's talking negatively about putin and Russia, but don't really know how to dismiss it, so you just say "oh well, he's a CIA agent, sooo...."
Joe: "The sky is blue what do you think Mike?" Mike: "Well the idea of color is something that has been that has been debated for years, The sky is here the sky is there but is it really anywhere at all, I think the best idea is focusing on the clouds and maybe we can go from there, but does anyone really know? Joe: "Wow what an interesting take, we need you back for another episode"
As a Eastern European i have to say this men got it. This is what Poland, Baltics, Finland, Slovakia ,Czechia, Ukraine, Romania...etc been warning west about for years! Now the west finally sees...
Putin for 20 years straight: "Keep NATO out of Ukraine, that's the line in the sand and you will regret it if you don't listen" CIA man: "We literally have no way to predict this mad man's actions!"

What is he lying about? I don’t trust mainstream people either but I’m still not sure what to make of all of this. Is Putin a CIA puppet too? Or what’s your take?
Oh wow what a unique perspective, I thought this retired CIA agent would just repeat what all the other major news sources were saying. But he's really shaking up my world perspective here. I guess Putin really is just pure evil and there really absolutely was no reason to attack Ukraine, absolutely unprovoked. What a great and wonderful conversation. Thanks JR for asking him the really tough questions and really getting him to finally reveal the truth, and not just nodding your head at his every word. Really appreciate that.
If he is CIA, of course even if he asked questions the truth won’t be talked about just answer and go around it saying Putin is crazy why would he want to take over areas in Ukraine and place a pro Russian gov whileNATO kept pushing closer to Russian boarder. Yeah, forget all the details. Just label people good and bad. News media is a joke.

100%. I should have jumped to the comments instead of watching the show. Mike seems like a guy in the bar shooting shit. Has no prep done, has no core beliefs, keeps on apologising.

I don't see how Intel is lacking, US & UK intel was saying over and over that Putin was going to invade. They knew when it was going to start, which caused the Russians to back peddle and delay it, they knew from where. This has been a huge intel success. I don't know what the heck this guy is talking about.
It's bullshit. They made at least part of the intel public, and it was clear at least a few months before invasion that it's gonna happen. US officials even went to tour in europe, trying to unite allied countries and coordinate response before shit hit the fan.
I feel a hint of sarcasm in your comment. We’re you thankful for the crack epidemic one of the intelligence services created too? And the mk ultra? Putin is smart enough to not to get Soviet Union back. Even he said once, ''Who is not sad for collapse of USSR is heartless and who wants USSR back is stupid.''
yes, exactly. and for decades the US literally said that what we ended up doing in Ukraine would push Putin into war there. Everyone knows we were fucking around there, and now everyone is pretending Russia did this out of nowhere.
