Ohh nooo!! Her presence is truly etched in this city. She was always one of my favorite broadcasters on WGN. I always admired her kindness, beauty, style and grace. She had the most wonderful, bright smile. She will truly be missed. Rest in peace and paradise Ms. Merri Dee. 🙏🏽💗

Didn’t know her and stumbled on this by mistake but I can tell that she was a real trailblazer. We all have to leave here eventually. It’s great when you can leave a beautiful legacy. Rip. Job well done.
My condolences goes out to family and friends she looked like she was a beautiful lady inside and out. That man that shot his beautiful lady should be in prison for the rest of his life it takes people like this lady to move the world in the right direction. She will be missed a movie to come

RIP Merri Dee, you will be missed. If you see Mike Parker, John Drury, Dick Johnson, Floyd Kalber, Tim Weigel, Joel Daly, Jerry Taft, Hugh Hill, Mike Hammernik, Jim Tilmon, and of course Allison Payne. Tell them we all say hello.
I am truly going to miss this beautiful woman and her beautiful spirit, soothing voice and strength! Her style, professionalism and all that came with her will truly be missed. Merri Dee, you are a part of the soundtrack of my life as a Chicago child of the 70's and 80's the will never forget. Thank you for for all the beautiful work you have done! Job well done Merri Dee!💜❤💛
I met her about 40❤ years ago at the regal theater on east 79th in Chicago. She greeted me in the most personable pleasant manner. She just appeared as a ray of sunshine. I was so excited and will always cherish that day.❤
Never knew Merri Dee worked at Chanel 44...I always remembered her voice on station identifications and voice overs at WGN 9 and on the news. I grew up on Merri Dee... RIP legend!
A incredible story I don't live in the state of Illinois but my mother's cousins moved there from Alabama years ago and they would attend some funerals in Alabama and also I would check out the News there in Chicago online so I do remember her may God Bless her Soul WOW and my condolences to her family.
Sorry to hear of her passing. In a way, her voice was the soundtrack of my childhood. I can still hear her lovely, graceful voice on the end of cartoon credits that aired on WGN in the 80s. "Stay tuned for the Traaaaaansformers." Even though I was only 4 years old at the time (it had to be 1979 or 1980), I can remember watching that scary 60 Minutes story with my parents years ago. I had a lot of respect for her. Rest in peace, Merri.♥
