Former Yankees pitcher Michael King grew up in New England as a Yankees fan. He was drafted by the Florida Marlins before being traded to the Yankees organization in 2017, and made his Yankees debut in 2019. King blossomed over time with the Yankees in the bullpen before getting his chance to start for the Yankees in the second half of 2023. He pitched so well it increased his value, San Diego wanted him for Soto and in 2024 he is having a strong season for San Diego with an E.R.A. under 4.00.
