Hey Guys, Please remember this is our FIRST time doing grip racing and learning about what is what with the car and how it all works. We have come along way after this event and have a laundry list of things to fix and make better. First being the brakes and Aero. Also, my fastest lap was NOT when the aero came off.

Look into Kyle.Engineers. He’s an amazing aerodynamicist that worked for merc f1 and has worked on Supra aero before. Pretty sure he actually helped build one of the fastest Time attack supras down in Australia for WTAC

Yeah, his work on that Supra Time Attack car is really impressive considering all those faster than it are all AWD monsters (EVO, GR Yaris, etc)

The aero on formula supra is by RS Future which is run by Amir who is responsible for designing the aero packages that most of the front runners in American time attack are running not to mention his turbo k swap nsx has dominated street class breaking records placing 1st in class while punching way above its weight. defending & current street class champion. RSF is the best aero option hands down.

It needs suspension setup. Not aero. Aero comes after the car functions properly.

Bummer on the aero bits breaking down at an event after all of the lead-up prep but glad to see you guys still putting in test laps and making setup changes to at least test mechanical grip limits while you were there. Racing throws us curveballs so its all about making the best of the time on track and gathering data for the next event. 🤜🤛

Judd > 4 rotor 100%. Rob 4 rotor was suprisingly quietfor a 4rotorbut i swear everytime tuerks supra fired up the paddock went quietjust in awe of the symphony that came out of it

@@scottdh28 The 4 rotor is much louder. In the videos people complain about ear plugs not being enough. It maxed the gain on their mic and you can't hear anything but the 4 rotor when it's running. With the supra you can hear ambient sound and talking over the engine.

Ryan, take turn 9 way wide, it sets you up for a better line going in to the braking zone of 10 and can shave a few tenths off your time. Love the car man super sad I couldn't make it out last weekend. - A guy with thousands of laps of Gingerman ✌️

Lots of aero improvements that can be made to the car, main one being a flat floor with diffuser, also a swan-neck rear wing to reduce drag

With a slight venturi at the rear seats and channels that force air out and under front doors/side skirt, then you can tune balance F+R and L+R, but it's really good he tested without aero, some good data on how the car misbehaves lol

Only just realized in this video how far the shifter is away from the steering wheel. perhaps a shifter with a kink in it more towards the wheel might help and feel more comfortable?

You should go check out Jackie Dings Aero on his Supra. He seems to have it figured out after racing his for a couple years now. Drive videos Look as though your sliding when you shouldn't be. Should really take the thing to a wind tunnel and try some stuff out.

12:20 that loose nut on the pass side floor gave us visual feedback of the forces... gives me an idea to put a small water tank there secured to the floow with colored water in it to show us how it splashes around from the forces. nothing crazy big... something small with 1 liter of colored water? Wonder if people would like it. edit: sealed tank. rather flat but wide and water only half way high. like 10x10 but only 3 inch tall and water 1.5 inches tall inside.

How to efficiently release pressurized air in order to gain downforce? This is a particularly difficult task for front-engine cars. The Japanese GT500 even has lateral ducts, making it look like a prototype machine, but the small inline 4-cylinder engine is what made it possible to achieve this with RWD. I look forward to the evolution of this Supra!

That thing has the craziest sound of any car when downshifting. Like it’s actually sad it has to downshift. 😞 Also, sounds like you’re shifting early. I’m not a pro but, are we just getting used to it as a whole or I’m wrong? I love this thing so much! Thank you for sharing with us this trip of regular Supra to this majestic machine! Awesome work!

He's short shifting because it can't put the power down. It needs so much suspension setup to get it planted before he actually drive it. Goes to show how you cant drift a roadcourse car and you can't roadcourse a drift car. The setups are hilariously different.

I am RU-vid mechanic so I apologise in advance Could some of the dancing around under braking be caused by the tyre pressure in the front being too low? Some soft slicks only work at surprisingly high pressures when there hot, if you can’t get them hot enough they will never meet that pressure so might need some extra cold pressure to help them along?

Hey Ryan! I was in the GC8 right behind you most of the weekend. To be totally honest I was pretty pissed you were holding me up because I though you were clowning around but after seeing your in-car footage it looks like you had an animal to wrestle there. The car looks like it has an insane amount of potential. Hope you get it sorted and get out there and do some more time attack with us. The fact you kept this thing under your ass as well as you did shows your talent goes far beyond drifting.
