Been going to Fortunes since I was a kid in the 70s. My Ma and Pa absolutely loved them. Unfortunately they rift like mad on me. But we always take a walk past when we come over just for the memories and the smell..👍👍
I have had Whitby kippers and I agree they are heaven. I always suck the backbone clean, never waste a morsel and fry in butter. They fry the bread, oh my word what could be better.
We have a cottage booked for August cant wait we normally camp up at Beacon Farm but not this year, your videos are brilliant 👍 not sure abiut the bones but i do like kippers will be trying this place.
We always used to get our local fish-monger in Shenfield to get us a box of Scottish kippers at Christmas time. Any one staying with us absolutely loved them.
lovely Simon i am pleased you loved the kippers. i miss them so much.im an ex Bradford lad who moved to Farndale then Scotland and i used to work in both Whitby and Scarborough .I have watched a few of your videos and they are a great reminder on Whiby and Yorkshire .ps I am now living in New Zealand best wishes i will keep watching
I’ve walked past the Rusty Shears many a time but always closed. Defo popping in for for some kippers when next in town! Thanks for the shout out on this Simon 👏
Fortunes kippers are amazing and if you like less bones go for the fillets. I've never seen the tea shack shut ever in all the years ive been going. Intriguing do a bit of sniffing around Simon and let us know.
You really do LOVE Whitby,it's evident in your whole being?Good on'yer you go for it,the drone footage is brilliant aswell?from BIGMICK IN HULL without snow yet

Looks like ya'll got a little snow, boss. We got 6" here today. I haven't watched the last couple of videos, but I'll get caught up this evening. Love seeing Whitby.
Simon those Kippers looked amazing 👍👍😁😎 I hope the Hotel in Leeds refunds you in full for the Dodgy Christmas Meal. It says a lot about a place if the MD shy's away from responding.
If you want to do a comparison Monks Haven Cafe on Church Street used to do lovely kippers and scrambled egg wth toast. Not sure if they still do but when I had them a few years ago they were delicious.
I love the smell of the smoke house as you walk up Henrietta street ,I stayed in a cottage a few doors down and could smell it in the cottage .i had the kippers once years ago but the bones make me feel sick don’t know how anyone eats them .might try the killer pate ,I love the salmon there and bacon .
We always buy a few pairs of kipper fillets at Fortunes whenever we go to Whitby, can’t beat ‘em. You made my mouth water there lol PS Came here from Butlers Whitby trip, subbed
Hey Simon Fortune's Kippers... ❤ them with brown bread and a brew , but the only thing is ... The smell stays with you all day...😂😂😂😂 So don't go kissing your other half as she won't appreciate it . 😂😂😂 Chin,Chin my friend 🫡👍
Evening Simon, my mum loved kippers😊But she ate alone 😢 Not sure what the record for " fish stink " is or was 😮but with us about 3 days 😢😢😢 She'd have eaten at the Rusty Shears every day. It did look fantastic, plate a bit cramped but your face said tasty, top quality breakfast spot on😊Mrs M enjoy London with the kiddies? Tally Ho Allan&Family
