Thanks a ton for this video! Nothing else comes close to this guide. Here are my personal optimal settings for the best Visual to performance ratio. 04:08 - Anisotropic Filtering - High 04:40 - Shadow Quality - High 05:38 - Night Shadows - On 06:04 - Environmental Texture Quality - Ultra 05:53 - Environmental Geometry Quality - High 07:36 - MSAA - Off if you have TAA enabled. Else MSAA 2x for 1080p and above 08:31 - FXAA - Off 09:01 - SSAO - Ultra 09:39 - Reflection Quality - Extreme or Ultra 10:31 - World Car Level of Detail - Ultra 11:19 - SSR - Ultra 11:47 - Lens Effects - Medium 12:21 - Shader Quality - Ultra 13:12 - Particle Quality - High 14:09 - Motion Blur - Ultra if you want to keep it , Deformable Terrain Quality - High, RTX - Off
Thanks for that, i'll continue making more detailed videos like this. Will concentrate on Forza Horizon 5 for now, but will definitely be doing some other games in the future.
Great job bro, thank you for this. Some observations: Yes, there are particle effects on the benchmark: the water spray. I can see a slight change with different particle presets in my system, both in density of this spray and in avg framerate. Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure environment geometry quality rules draw distance of the vegetation as well. I'm setting this to extreme (and taking the big performance hit) just because of that.
Thanks for the info, i'll have a look at the draw distance. I didn't go into what setting controls that at all. Water spray is definitely particles. If you take a look at my latest video on the subject, jump to the particle section, you can see a bunch more examples on particles in game. This is a really well made graphics comparison video. The only thing that I wished you looked at for all settings is VRAM usage. Some of the settings that had no performance difference, but there probably would've had a performance hit if you had less VRAM available, which most of us don't have as high VRAM as you do. Besides that though, this is an insanely well made graphics comparison video.
it's been said many time already but still had to say it. Great review and I appreciate all the effort (tons of hours!!!) that went into this. Really well executed.
Thanks! This was my first attempt, it will only get better from here! Better presentation, better methods and hopefully simple clear information so users can tweak their game easier!
After watching the whole video I was surprised you had only 850 subscribers, I can obviously tell you put a lot of effort into the makings of this video, also well explained and the recommendations are the cherry on top, you just earned a new subscriber!
Ive noticed that in the daylight (when sun has brighten up the roads ) shader quality does make some differnece in shadowing under the car (like right exactly below the car)
Great video man! I was looking for one of these! A note, SSR doesn't have extreme options at least not in my game. Edit: medium is not listed so is confused with high and so on :D. Also on Lens effects, what you say is different of what is written :P Anyways, I look forward for the more in depth video! Have a sub :D
Yikes, thanks for pointing these out. I will make sure that I do double check on my labels data next time. You are spot on with SSR, the labels are wrong. It should be ULTRA > HIGH > MEDIUM > LOW > OFF. I double checked and the order of the data is still correct, and the % gains are correct, just the wrong text labels. This was my first video like this, i've definitely already learned a lot and refined the process for the next one! I've added an extra check step along the way to make sure this doesn't happen again! 👍
Wow for a channel that doesn't even have 200 sub this is the highest detailed graphic video I have seen, well done! Subbed, Hope you grow fast bud. I dont think I ever subbed to a graphics compare channel but the quality of this video compelled me. You should do more you are really good at this!
Very high level and knowledgeable analysis for my taste. Will use your data to change my settings and yeah it takes a huuuge chunk of time to test all these so thank you. +1
Thanks a lot for this, I was able to mess with my settings to boost the visual quality of the game with close to no performance hit. Very useful and high quality video and I you earned a new sub!
your recommendations actually worked to give that sweet spot! Great channel! And please consider 1660 super when you will get medium and low budget cards for settings recommendations! Looking forward to your settings analysis for more games in future! All the best!
my rx 570 4gb recommend settings is low but high settings im getting 60-90 fps i tried anything ultra extreme except texture quality high, geometry high, shadow high im getting 40-50 fps
Just a note about the world car LOD setting. It controls the quality of OTHER cars on the road, not the one you're driving, which is why the corvette badge doesn't change. Look at the Lexus in front and you'll see the bigger change
Hey there, it definitely does effect the car you are driving. It also effects the other cars as well. Take a look at this section in my latest video, it clearly shows the difference. This link jumps straight to the section. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3pU7AMTbd_Y.html
5:41 Night shadows control the setting of the artificial lights that turn on on night, you can see the spotlights have shadows on your video on ON but not on OFF.
Thanks! Really appreciate it! I just wish I had a wider variety of cards to test with, 3080 is very top heavy. I'm going to work on that one for future videos.
I have a 5700xt with latest driver and I'm getting around (1440p): 100-120fps (2x msaa, going too 4x then I'm set). I think its nice too know. You could get some really nice views with your benchmark videos cause they are good
@@Adam-010 Great! thanks for the info, i definitely plan on doing more videos like this in the future. 100-120fps is a pretty damned nice framerate to play at. MSAA 4x over 2x is such a small difference in visual quality for a moderate performance hit. I'd turn up more of the flashy graphics settings like reflection quality and lighting before raising MSAA to 4x, but if you're happy with it, then go for it! Awesome game...
@@HecticRun np (150fps on fh4 with 4x) this is the type of game where i want those jacked edge's elimenated. It's by far the best race game that I played (need for speed :( but... Fh5 suffers from a very bad draw distance now unfortunately
@@Adam-010 Even on my 3080, when i crank up all the level of detail you can tell it's struggling in some spots, especially when you're smashing through fields of objects. That's at 4k though.
Thanks for the comment Ult1m0! I would like to do some more of these videos in the future. It's a lot of work! But i nejoyed doing it! It did help that i love this game so it was easier for me to learn about the game and it's graphics functions.
Man that was a really nice video! It would be nice if you could put the summary of the recommended settings on your description, or at the end of the video.
Hi Huaie, i would have liked to do that! It's just hard with this game because what worked for me on the 3080, would most definitely not work for a lot of other cards. I know people would have liked this, in future games that i do, I will hopefully be able to add this information as i am collecting a range of cards to get accurate data with! Glad you enjoyed it :)
@@HecticRun Oh yeah, I forgot that part! But you could do like one for high end, and one for middle end or something. But great video nonetheless man! I put my settings on Ultra in my 2080 thanks to your video. I was playing on Extreme, but after seeing that there was basically no difference between Extreme and Ultra, I just stayed with Ultra and got a boost of 40 fps! So thank you!
I will definitely be using these settings when I get a high refresh rate monitor, but right now I only have a 60hz. I just Vsync and max out the settings, except for a few.
I'm not running either of those resolutions but I can tell you that it doesnt really add anything to the game when running higher on than 60fps. In fact, it sort of feels more dynamic and realistic at a lower refresh rate
@@HecticRun definitely did man - i was playing on extreme with a 3080ti - getting around 67 to 70fps. your tip pushed it to 98-100 with no visual loss!
Thanks Tim, it was my first attempt ever to record a video like this. I have a few improvements I'll make for the next one, hopefully I can keep up the level of detail!
about night shadows, go to a road bar at night and look at the bar poles when hit by the light. when this setings is on the shadows of the poles will move as the car moves if this option is off the pole shadows will stay static. i hope you understand me sorry for my english :S
awesome, thanks. i got an RTX 3070 and run at 1440p with maxed settings, except textures are on ultra instead of extreme. the game constantly gives me low vram warnings on extreme. guess 8gb isn´t quite enough for that. i´ll try to lower some settings as per this video and see if i could even run 4k while still looking pretty much the same. Horizon 4 ran on 4k maxed settings and it was glorious.
@@HecticRun awesome, looking forward to it. i imagine over time it´ll get optimized some more and graphic drivers will get better, too. so we might see a little performance increase. i got that impression with horizon 4. with my old 1660ti it ran at 1440p maxed settings, when two years ago it couldn´t quite run that high.
