Your emphasis of footwork is probably the most important in your curriculum. Having studied 3 other martial arts before discovering your academy I think my ability to protect myself has tripled. I should have learned this long ago. I started in Judo. In 1 class a student asked the instructor what do you do if you keep throwing a drunk attacking you, but he keeps getting up. His answer was hit him with a beer bottle.
As a Wing Chun guy, thank you so much for #1 being mobility/footwork! It is so desperately lacking amongst WC practitioners. My Sifu always says for every drill, for every encounter, at every monent in that encounter, you need to do three things. In order of importance, they are: Don't get hit. Improve your position. Hit back them back. You need to move your feet for any of these.
Jason Korol, I like what I heard in this video. Not enough people emphasize the change in your psyche in a violent encounter. Clearly, you have "practical" experience using your skills.
