When they bark constantly like that and stand still, it's to alert nearby foxes, "Hey there's a strange unknown creature around, be careful it's probably dangerous, don't go near here!" Also, if you hear a bark that has longer pauses, and the fox is looking around, it's trying to find a mate, or calling for their kits. If they're rubbing on a tree to leave a scent, it's a mating call.
I hope to hear another fox in the yard. This one was barking 2 or 3 minutes prior to me going outside to see what was going on. Wish I could have gotten a longer video. But still wonderful to see & hear! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Heard this exact bark this morning when I went for a jog. But with the longer pauses. Definitely calling her kits as I almost stepped on one of the teddy bear fuzzballs just off the trail in the long grass. Can't believe how well it was hidden. Pretty cool.
I think it had nearby by cups and i saw or heard that this means or she tried to lure you away from them she wanted you to chase her to lure you away from her babys which was nearby.
@@angkarbasil Foxes aren't like dogs, just because they're canines. They also have a habit of pissing all over when happy. Or stressed. Or mad. Basically you can't win.
@@thisdude9363 Indeed. While they can be domesticated, I've heard that not only do you need a yard that can actually accommodate them with fences deep enough that they won't just dig underneath and escape, but in many other ways they can just be a pain in the ass to deal with. The problem is that whenever you see videos and the like of pet foxes, they don't tend to show you that stuff.
As a fox owner myself, I can say for a fact that they are a LOT of hard work. Personally, I’ve been researching foxes extensively for six years now, and even then, owning one isn’t any easier. The research is simply so you can understand them. Each fox is uniquely different, and each one brings its own challenges (however, ALL of them are exceedingly hard to keep lol. Mine simply cannot be released into the wild)
Had a momma fox running around at the back of our property going after a coyote doing this same scream protecting her little kits. This is a cool video actually showing it.
I adore foxes but I hate there barks because of how high pitched it is, but I love chatting/chuckling sound they make when interacting with either someone or another fox, assuming they have had friendly interaction before hand of course.
Trust me when I say they do a lot more than barking… screaming, screeching, and likely their most iconic call: laughing. They sound just like a giggling inhuman toddler-thing lol
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Denali. That being said, at midnight at a secluded cabin in a hot tub...a random screaming fox in the middle of nowhere woke my drunk ass up quick HAHA! We drove up to fairbanks for a day too, AK is a very unique place. Most beautiful place I've ever been in my life.
I love foxes, so I already know many of their vocals, but dude, I swear, If I was in some woods at night, and heard this, I would probably sh*t myself 🤣😂😅. Still love em' :3🧡🦊
Probably the person standing there. They bark as a distraction, to attract the predator to them, and also as a warning for their kits, so they run into their den where they're safe.
First time I heard a fox barking I thought it was a woman screaming in the woods. Scared the hell out of me. My friend told me that when he was a 911 dispatcher he would get calls all the time from people thinking the same thing
What a beautiful Animal a Fox! this is really fantastic footage - there must be a Den nearby for he/she to be so bold at that range? The beginning footage when Fox just sitting there seemed as if YOU were being scolded!
It’s probably a male. During mating season the male foxes will find a safe place to sit/pace in and scream so his mate - the female - can locate him through his voice.
I have heard a fox making weird noises in the dark and it is really chilly at first, if you don't realize it is just a fox. They of course make more sounds than only the one in the video. Their sounds would fit some horror material.
Ive heard a fox barking at me like this in the woods. Almost like a panic call. The fox barked at me and than ran off quickly. Than I saw a large "thing" in the woods that seemed to be stalking me. Dont know WTF it was to this day and at the time didnt want to find out so I took a hike from my hike.
I have some living by my house. If I forget to their put food out they do that. They're saying "I'm hungry. Feed me." They love hot dogs and dry cat food. They'll eat just about anything. But they don't like lettuce.
Heard this screaming last night while I was outside and very close. Not gonna lie, it was very scary and so loud, I ZOOMED inside. At first I tough it was a human screaming, couldn’t peacefully sleep all night 😅
Es una verdadera pena que no dejen ni una especie viva. La entidades públicas deberían prohibir la caza masiva ante la posible extinción de muchas especies y la destrucción del hábitat y del ecosistema que ya se regula por si solo... 🤟👎🖕💩👺
