This genius is offering so much wealth of knowledge and history and the audience is so poorly educated in showing this gentleman the respect he has earned.
What a thoughtful presentation by Roja Dove! It would be fantastic to get to smell all those iconic fragrances from the past. What an insolent audience, however.
I started a perfume collection, have always been in love with the art, and emotions of scent, and this has been an incredible speech. As a person who studied classical history in university this speech brought both my love for history and scents together. Thank you
I wish I was there to listen to this precious lecture. Mr. Roja for sure has much more stories about fragances and about his own scents. I hope to encounter more videos from him.❤❤❤❤❤ thank you so much for sharing ! Cheers !
Lovely stories and history! I own Tabac Blond, Mitsouko, and Chanel No. 5, none of the bottles newer than 30 years old. I treasure them so much but do wear them.
Excellent lecture. Full of information and what an absolutely incredible collection he owns. Id say Mitsouko is the greatest perfume ever made. For the greatest perfumer I’d nominate Edmond Roudnitska.
i just love everything classy and that is you roja dove i also love knowledge which you have giving to me here so thank you aswell as the fragrance community and i love fragrances . so thank you for expanding my knowlege of the history of fragrances roja dove
This was so interesting. It is so amazing to see the beauty and fineness of the bottles. It's easy for people living in modernity to not understand or appreciate the past and discount so much of the skill and abilities of those living back then. People these days are more likely to say those were created by the Tartarian's and from before the mud flood. SMH. Also, I finally know how to use a blotter strip correctly. XD
Guess I found one of my favorite videos on RU-vid with this! Wonderful. Edit: However, the audience really did seem to be somewhat... inconsiderate, which is actually quite baffling.
I can't believe this video has no views. Y'all need better branding, advertising, and a better image. People would love to watch this. They either don't know what they're missing, or think it isn't interesting at a glance. I wasn't even into fragrance until a year ago, and now, because of Roja Dove, I'd like to make a career of this when I leave the military (originally it was medicine). The history is interesting, and so is the idea behind it. Come on yall.
What a moving lecture from a well-travelled master of his class. I am moved to tears. Mes salutations Monsieur Dove. @fragrancefoundationuk - Thank you for recording the lecture and making it available to a wider audience on RU-vid.
❤❤❤ You win my hearth from the 1st breath of Ti amo...and now i am so so delighted to hear and see and feel the pleasure to that voyage du parfum ! Je suis ravie ! 💜💜💜 I wish to meet you in person and tell you about my heaven masterpiece !
Fascinating and Envious. Two words to express this presentation. Envious because he paints a picture of better times. Times when society had class and sophistication. And more importantly structure and accountability. Especially regarding men and women and the dynamic between them. There were no social constructs to excuse the poor eating habits and behaviors. Particularly sexual behaviors. This reminds me of growing up with my grandparents who, I was placed under they're custody, as my parents were not able to raise me for multiple reasons. They were from the 50s. We sat down for dinner as a family at 5pm. You ate what was on your plate and moreover you were grateful. You wouldnt dare complain. After all, women and children were to speak when spoken to and only with permission. Respect, integrity, honesty, honor..things i sorely miss in today's clown world of the west. Even his speech is elegant. So well versed and precisely pronounced. A very refreshing video to see. I love the history and way it is beautifully explained. It also reminds me why I love collecting. Fragrances can literally transport you to a different time as well as serve as future doorways for present events soon to become memories. Absolutely beautiful. 👏
Sir it wasn’t Mumtaz Mahal, the queen was MUMTAZ; and mahal means a monument like that Taj Mahal Anyways GEART LECTURE on history of perfumes!! Thanks, I wish I could smell those samples tho, a whole century depicted in front of you.
You are wrong If you think Arabs invented perfumery! Archeological evidence has shown Kingdoms of Indian sub continent ( currently India) had well set up ancient perfumeries as old as 2500 years ago & possibly even older & made perfumes with rose, sandalwood,Jasmine for their Maharajas & Maharanis & the rich elite when Arabs were still living as nomads!😅 I am an archeologist who is introduced in perfumery.
