Rival tech is awesome: you're either going to love it or hate it. Glowy bits are nice and it really changes up the models a lot. You can tell they put a lot of effort into it.

If you pay attention during refinary missions, you'll notice that a couple of the tools the dwarves use to build/fix pipes have the builders choice skin.

Neon Band is absolutely the top of S tier for me. It just looks great on everything. Custom Engineered is kinda the same way. Rival Tech for me depends on the gun, like the Hurricane looks wicked sweet with it. Fourth Relic is another really great one. I think it would be sweet to see a tier list on all the weapon color schemes too! Rock and Stone!

Mega Corp feels like it was made to be paired up with dark future. Color works both ways. Neon also looks awesome with them as well. Last stubby is the only gun from builders choice that has no guard rails!

I didn't like Waster that much until they added barbarian Bosco in season 2. It basically turns Bosco to a Waster skin that reminds me of Mad Max/Road Warrior. For some reason, having Bosco match my weapons/armor always hits the right vibe.

i think its important to consider how well a weapon framework matches your armor/helmet; the synergy of style is very important between everything and colors/frames that really dont blend in with any armor are naturally much lower in appeal

The recent Salt Crystal paint job was a GODSEND for the Rival Tech frameworks, and they were pretty great to start. Some weapons, particularly the Minigun, if you’re lucky enough to slap Pale Ghost and Rival Tech onto them look a lot like the endgame alien weapons from the original Borderlands

I usually find myself leaning towards fourth relic and megacorp. Fourth Relic as you've mentioned, looks straight out of fantasy. The design just stands out extra cool, especially on weapons where there's a visible emblem. Megacorp on the other hand makes certain weapons look more professional. Bulky, but properly encasing parts of the weapon while showing off your paintjobs. Guns with too many unnecessary protrusions, loose parts & cables, and other doodads look overdesigned. The Megacorp framework usually fixes that.

I think Dark Future DLC paired with Neonband works so well.

The new Milspec is a solid A for me. It makes a lot of overdesigned weapon models look simple yet cool. The Cryo Cannon, the EPC, all become much better.

My favorite weapon cosmetic combo is Megacorp with the Roughneck paint job.

Since I've brought Robot Rebellion Pack, I just love using Waster and Robot Rebellion paint jobs alongside with the armor. I've end up making my gunner as Orks from Warhammer series XD

I have to say I kinda 100% agree with you. Really love the Fourth Relic and Scale Brigade.

I don't know why they made it so insanely difficult to get the frameworks you want. In the very least, they should let us choose between 3 like on the Machine events. Not only are cargo crates uncommon (35% chance on max length missions), but the framework you get is totally random and on a random weapon, for a random class. That makes getting what you want basically impossible without playing the game for 500+ hours, or grinding solo missions using scout for *just* cosmetics.

I love scale brigade! It's the kind of armour/framework that I imagine Durin's folk would actually use 😄 Here's hoping we get all these frameworks and colours for the support tools 🤤

Here's mine Builder's choice : easy S, probably my favourite, has a nice antimaterial vibe, sometimes reminds me of WH40K guns Custom engineered : also S, has a nice retrofuturistic vibe Fourth relic : A, looks really good Glyphid trophy hunter : C, I don't like it Mechanized : A, to me it's a toned down version of custom engineered Megacorp : S, definitely the most realistic framework, reminds me of other science fiction franchises Neonband : S, we all have neon g@m3r setups, thus we should like neon skins Rival tech : B, eh, it's fine Scale Brigade : S, a lot like fourth relic but even better Waster : B, like glyphid trophy hunter but better

I love the Waster framework on the M1000 personally, I only have 173 hours so don’t have an abundance of frameworks to work with.

I don’t have all the colors and frameworks, but I will say that I really like Rival Tech with other colors on it. Notable colors include Warmonger and Military (from Season 3 Season Pass), with Warmonger getting an insane red glowing color that isn’t present on the glowing parts of Neon Band, and Military adds this golden yellow that really pops. It works really well when not using the base color. Also, will say, Military framework is definitely S-tier on a lot of models, because it heavily shakes them up. Notable inclusions being the Cryo Cannon, Minigun, and Autocannon.

Engi: Stubby and shard + megacorp with rebellion color Scout: M1000 neon band with rebellion, boomstick custom engineer with rebellion Driller: Sludge Pump neon band with rebellion, wave cooker neon band with rebellion I'm def a fan of the opposing team's colors.

Get the cosmetic restriction remover mod and you can use the awesome builders choice colour scheme on any weapon framework. It is a client-side only mod too so people can see the effect but your game isn't classed as modded.

When I initially saw Builders Choice I thought it looked kinda ass, basically cause half of the models from the preview didn't seem to change too much and I really don't like its colour scheme. But when I tried it with other colours I realised that it could actually end up looking pretty damn good. I now use it for Scounts M-1000 and currently use it for Gunners Autocannon.

I love megacorp so much because it makes the guns look more tactical and realistic in almost all cases. I hope we get more frameworks like megacorp in the future because while the fantasy ones are nice I just love the idea of dwarves rocking tactical gear and weapons.

I think Scale Brigade's the best of the bunch, except for the helmet sadly. But that's circumvented with the helmets from Seasons 1 and 3 thankfully, they look awesome with Scale Brigade.

I lovingly refer to the paintjob on Neon Band as my "Trans Pride Guns" and recently unlocked the paintjob (Mint Assault) for my scout weapons and I'm never looking back

Neon band, fourth relic and rival tech are the absolute best imo.

I really like Waster but only if you use the Scratched Metal skin, it makes it look like you slapped a bunch of rusty metal together and managed to get a functional weapon out of it

Have you considered making an update on this now that we have a fair few more frameworks? :)

I'm in love with Megacorp. I want my dwarves to look like elite shock troops from the Fourth Corporate Wae. Kickass aesthetics, M1000 looks gorgeous. Thunderhead is one of my favourites with it. Being able able throw the flat white on other models is awesome too

for me builders choice is f on 99% of weapons in looks worse then stock and the only one where it looks good on in the gk2 imo also for the trophy hunter tbh i hate it, i understand why ppl like it but its not for me XD. for mega yeah it looks really nice its the only dlc i got (the pgl and brt kina sucks) but everything else looks good

Let's see... If I write a description of my favorites, it would be... (in no particular order of ranking) 1: I think builder's looks really cool on the thunderhead since it looks like two big soda cans on the front. It also looks great on the normal minigun which just turns it into one big soda can. 2: Thunderhead also looks amazing in mega corp, like you said I love the way the barrels just become these big industrial rectangles that pump explosives out. I think it looks/feels the best when used with max fire rate upgrades/overclocks. Makes you feel like a one-man army roleplaying a military tank with hyper attack speed. 3: I love custom engineered on pretty much any weapon. My favorite thing about it is the little holographic sight it adds to most weapons. That, and I like the whole sorta gadgetry sorta look (I made my engi's pickaxe to have a part for every situation. I love swiss-army-knife looking things. I'm the crazy guy who would overburden himself with a bunch of tools that would only come into niche situations, but then when the situation DOES come up, I laugh at everyone and say "WAIT, I have a thing JUST for this! I've been waiting to use it!" Engineered looks like it matches my super swiss-army-knife pickaxe. 4: I think rival tech looks awesome on the minigun, but other than that I don't like how bulky it makes some of the smaller weapons look. Same goes for other bulky skins like fourth relic or scale brigade. With that said, however... 5: I think fourth relic is another top tier one because that gold looks so good with certain colors. Glad I'm not the only one who loves gold/blue/white! 6: And if I had to pick a favorite as in best overall... I'd probably pick mega corp, unsurprisingly. It just looks too good with different colors, and I love the sleek look of them. Normally dislike minimalistic designs, but at the same time, it makes every weapon look realistic and feasible. Too many stock skins (or otherwise) just look a little too fantasy for my tastes. And while I love fantasy stuff, I like to be immersed in my games, and I feel that while the stock (and other skins) look great quality-wise, something to me just doesn't feel like they match the industrial/corporate vibe I get from DRG. Mega corp looks like they're high quality weapons given to you by a company that cares about you. Wait...

I find that fourth relic and rival tech colours go together really well in some weapons

I love Neon Band and Rival Tech lol What I normally do is Neon Band with the Megacorp colors.

The only real waster frame I like is the crisper It adds war crime looks on top of the warcrime

I think my favorite weapon with rival tech is the minigun. It looks so sleek, especially when spinning it

There was a mod that I downloaded a while back that let you use some of the dwarves' armor paints on weapons, which let you combine class-specific Splattered armor paints with Glyphid Trophy Hunter. It easily made the framework for me, just a shame that you need a mod for that.

Base milspec is ASS, but with paint jobs your guns can look like Nerf Guns, which is funny. A tier for me, and infected is mid, B tier.

Gonna say, i do dig waster, but because it matches the wildkin esque sets i roll with, got a "orc" driller(pretty much dawn of the dread armour with green skin) and it's baller with waster and trophy hunter, using the warmonger and mosscrawler paints. However waster in particular rolls reallly hard with scratched metal for that built from trash feel Also, for a skin that goes with megacorp, trusty rusty really sells the abandoned/mistreated military gear, used it for a post-soviet-esque set

I don't like Builder's Choice much, especially the stock colors. Too much like Nerf.

Overall, I think both of the season pass weapon skins are just okay or even bad, but for some reason the minigun just looks so sick for both, like miles ahead of the other weapons

I mean glyphid only matches with the dread naught skinline for more efficiency. The waster skinline I guess goes well with robot rebellion skin pack not the rival tech one though

If Karl is alive down there I like to imagine him running around slaying with Waster and Glyphid Trophy Hunter weapons, constantly replacing them and using what he can find. Like Mad Max. Mad Karl. Bet he has his own Waster looking Drilldozer as his ride.

Honestly, I don't really like the Waster framework either. At least with Glyphid Trophy Hunter, it works as part of a set without need for the DLC cosmetics. That, and the fact I've grown to hate getting it out of every other cargo crate I find.

Totally lines up with my takes on these too. Neon band is my favorite for sure

I don't have all weapon frame works (like neon on all wrapon, for example) yet the game say "empty" when I find a cargo crate, can someone help me?

I have the Scale Brigade frameworks on the M1000 and bulldog revolver, but also the Deepcore GK2 which I never use (still an amazing look though). Definitely my favorite framework. My least favorite frameworks have to be the Waster and glyphid trophy hunter. A lot of the Builders Choice ones look great. Overall they did a good job.

I gotta say I pretty much completely agree except for Waster. For me Waster looks awesome. Combined with the newest skin pack Robot Rebellion I think it looks incredible. I might swap builders choice and mechanized as well as mechanized doesn’t really do much for me and just feels like an inferior custom engineered.

I'd have a similar list, except I'd put Rival Tech into Tier S and waster in Tier C

I think I'm in the vast minority when I say Rival Tech is easily my least favourite. It looks so weird having half the gun be all high-tech and fancy and the other half be vanilla with nothing coherently connecting the two. xD

We are pretty much in synch on the topic of framefashion, with the exception of neon band. you said it looks great on everything, but imo (purely subjective, of course) they overdid it on some of the smaller weapons liker pistols with the amount of bands. also, to my eye different skin colours seem to fall in two different level of brightness with the neon glow, with one being much brighter and "aggressive", which seems ... odd. All in all, I think ghost ship did a wonderful job on the designs, and what cannot be stressed enough these days is the way ghost ship monetizes cosmetics should be exemplary to the rest of the industry. Its almost like while they want to make money of them, they believe there is something like "enough money", not just "all the money in the world". tbh, because of this I bought some of the DLCs just because of the hundreds of hours of enjoyment I got from the game, not because I necessarily wanted them. Go figure.

Waster looks really badass with the spikes on some weapons, it makes them look "metal" and sometimes reminds me of Borderland's weapons. In some weapons Waster looks kinda ugly tho.

The trophy hunter one is pretty gross looking, its like bunch of rotten giblets glued to your gun. Thus the waster works better for "spikecore" aesthetic.

Waster is defo better than trophy hunter. The latter is barely compatible with any other paint job. At least you can use water with other paint jobs decently.

That was an entertaining video. Your rankings are pretty close to my own. The only changes I’d make are bumping Neon Band down to a low B and putting Mechanized at the top of S tier.

I mostly agree with your list, except waster is alright and not bottom tier: that one is reserved for fourth relic as it feels too tacky and scale brigade does a much better job at being a classic fantasy framework. Also, why does neon band scale brigade look more golden than neon band supporter gold???

Regardless which framework the skin is for the Minigun always gets bangers. Scale brigade is ok, most of the time they just look like inferior versions of fourth relic. Mechanized looks most of the time quite boring, the original skin color isn't very appealing, and if you put another color scheme on it the gun just looks like a sidegrade to the base version (exception is Stubby). In general you could say that smaller weapons have less good looking skins than bigger weapons where the designers can actually do something with them. Neon band of course makes everything look good (except the Minigun ironically)
