My wife and I saw Jr. in concert and it was otherworldly. He had his dad’s entire orchestra behind him and Jr. sang a number of his dad’s standards. Simply incredible!
He was a great singer too, on his one merits. Too bad for him to have that big shadow of his Dad's name over him. With another name, he would have been on his own.

He had a quieter, kinder and less egotistical personality than his dad. Wonderful singer who knew how to command a stage and work in sync with a band. Great but underrated singer.
He looked and sounded so much like his father both as young and when he got older. He felt he wasn't a success. It can be so very hard on children of famous people. I wonder if he was ever really happy.
A consumate pro, it wasn't easy for this man but he ultimately made it, a respected musician who was also an advocate for big bands, a bandleader for his father when Frank outlived his conductors, composers and arrangers, he toured through the country successfully carrying the Sinatra legacy after his dad's passing and a 1-derful storyteller you could listen for hours because he was there when it happenned. Rest In Peace Frank Jr, you did well !
that little head shake when done by Sinatra dad....was because he was out of breath and he was starting his breathing that way.......here its probably the same thing since it was a long note...but it may just be affectation...with Frank jr. i have not seen him perform enough to know...which
He didn't have that particular connection to the audience that his father had. You have the same name, sing the same songs, and the audience is going to directly compare you. I don't know what else he could have done. He didn't like Rock & Roll, so he couldn't sing in a different style. He dabbled in acting but never seriously, so he wasn't taking a different path. If he had become successful in a totally separate field, like business or production, maybe things would have been better in some ways. But I think Jr. understood that he was always in his father's shadow as a performer.

I actually enjoy this rendition more than his father’s, mostly due to the fact that the original was a tad too slow for my taste. It amazes me how similar his voice was to his father’s. This style of music is one that I treasure. I definitely enjoy Frank Sinatra Jr.’s voice, but I also understand why he didn’t hit the same heights as his father. While his voice is great, it was very similar to his father’s, but not distinct enough where you could disassociate him and not think it was just the son of Frank Sr. Not saying that is his fault, it’s also having to live up to the expectation that you are the son of one of the best big band singers of our time.
This is absolutely me, I spent so long looking for a karaoke version of this version because I just think was made so much better. I've had to use AI to remove his vocals in this and upload a poor attempt but long awaited karaoke version of this. It's just too fantastic
I'm here after first hearing of Frank Jr's death and just finding out about his existance. I've gotta say it's sad to find that Frank had a successor and that he's also already dead. Great voice.
it makes me so sad that this music is dying, not only is it a piece of american history, its such a fantastic genre of music with that gives actual sex to the ears and soul. I am and will forever be envious of the ones who got to see Jr. or his father live.

Not to worry Jack Jones is now the last Man (Crooner) standing. He is still going stong, at 85. He did an Album in 2021 called: "Every Other Day I've Got the Blues." Jack Jones has still got it in spades.!
Bravo, I never listened to Jr before. What a talent. Those who criticize this man are assholes. My credentials are I played Tenor Sax, some keyboard and vocals all around NEW Orleans. Many musicians in the area that I worked with played with musicians like Al Hirt, Pete Fountain, Dr John, Mac Rebennack, Fats Domino, Ernie K Doe, Stark Whiteman, Erma Thomas, and others. Frank Jr is truly a musician and vocalist to be appreciated by anyone who is not tone-deaf.
shy and introverted as a child..frank jr. never got his dad's attention as the girls. but he idolized his dad and was a consummate musician....and while no one had Sinatras singing ability....Frank jr. was always well received and hey....i have heard a lot worse!
Well. Let's be fair. Frank, jr. had a father who happened to be the cast of what great singers were, and are. His father was simply the greatest singer, interpreter that ever lived of popular song. Yes, I understand, in some way, that he 'sounds' like his father, but for him to follow on his father's footstep, sort of saying, was a big 'hurdle' to overcome. He did a pretty good job with one of his father' signature songs. He was a pretty decent performer while he was at it. Rest in peace along with his famous father.
Junior was very talented but singing big band standards was going out of style as music was changing in the mid 1960s. Had he teamed up with a good song writer, producer and arranger he really could have made his mark in pop music like his sister Nancy instead of going lockstep with his father.
He was an OK singer. At this early age he lacked what his father had and what his father had at his same age, he lacked style and voice control. As Frank Jr. got older his voice got deeper and he put more heart into the singing. He did get better but was not as captivating as his father.
It's a deep hole knowing he died not realizing how appreciated and important he was in his own style and charm beyond his dad. He was an unwavering screaming arrow his whole career and never bended. God bless you sir RIP
I remember my parents saying, at the time this recording was made, that he simply didn't have what Frank had. Frank Jr. had the tone and could carry a tune but his timing was not good. Frank Sr. could work through a song and it felt like a long dramatic journey. His phrasing and breathing were unbelievable. Listen to Frank Sr.'s version then this one and you will see what I mean.
