We found so much to do and explore at this spot on the Gilbert River along the Savannah Way in Queensland. We moved in to this spot after spending a night in the main free camp that is on the highway at the western end of the bride. We started of by going to find the random shed in the bush that we spottd with the drone. It was quite the mission to get in there, but found out some interesting history once did. Next was to jump in the Patrol and explore the road that heads north from the eastern sidd of the bridge. We made a pretty grissly discovery over there but at the same time found a waterhole that was full of birdlife including four or five brolgas. We captured some epic drone footage over here.
Later in the day we went fishing after we spotted a whole heap of tiny fish in one of the deeper sections of the river. We actually caught one which was a lot of fun! They look to me like baby Murray Cod, but I could be wrong. Make sure you leave a comment if you know what kind of fish it is.
In the afternoon we head over to one of the sand dune for a bit of fun with the boogie board thing that we have been carrying around on this trip since day one. It was originally for use on the sand dunes at the Big Red bash, it was good to finally use it again.
A real highlight for me was lighting a fire with a flint for the first time in my life.
