Posting as Jon Tretsven. Good discussion, guys! I like the emphasis on unity on the essentials and not conformity. As mentioned, one hallmark of (free) grace is coming to our view through independent study of the word. We're bound to come to different conclusions on some passages, and we can show grace and learn from each other.
Another thought, as discussed toward the end of the video, it is difficult to be alone. I know Free Grace people via podcasts (Lucas, Shawn, Daniel, Bob W.), and RU-vid, but I don’t a have single, close, personal, friend who is Free Grace. An additional thought, that Matt alluded to, I go to an SBC Church, and I can never relax there. My “Reformed”, “Calvinist” Radar is always on “high alert” when I’m there for Sunday School or any other Service. In some ways, it’s a good thing because I have to stay sharp. In other ways, it’s bad because straight out of the gate, I’m looking for a reason to disagree with whoever is delivering the message. Talk about feeling alone in a crowd of people! I often wonder if there are any other Free Grace people in that church. If there are, I sure don’t know them!
