They negotiate in bulk, something that diy does not offer and would make it extremely hard for a single person to settle with big credit card companies

Thanks for the comment! Great point- settlement firms make you fall behind, negotiate on your behalf, and allow you to consolidate payments as well, which many folks appreciate. It's pretty different than doing it on your own. But, it's all about the firm you choose, if that's the route you want to go. Let us know if you have questions!

Hi! Thanks for the comment. Just a heads up for anyone who'd love to use the calculator in the description, you do NOT need to input your contact info to use. It doesn't even require your email address. You can go through the entire calculator and select "none of the above" for the analysis option. I am on a fixed income and have maxed out my credit cards plus I have other loans. Each month, I can barely pay minimum on each account and still cannot bring balance down. I signed up with with Freedom Debt Relief today, but I'm worried I made a mistake doing so. Please advise if I should cancel or accept this assistance. My first payment is due next week. TIA

Hey, thanks for the message. Do you qualify for chapter 7 bankruptcy or are you trying to avoid it? How much extra bandwidth does the freedom program give you? What’s the percentage fee they are charging and did they add on an expensive legal plan? Lots of questions - would it be possible to call me at 833-272-3631 tomorrow?

On family's advice, I went ahead and filed for bankruptcy. It was filed under chapter 13.

I highly recommend Palisade Legal Group or Clarity Debt Resolution. Freedom Debt Relief is complete trash, they practically take all your money and pocket it as fees and in return they run you into legal risks with the creditors and devastates your credit even further.

@@AscendFinance im not even sure tbh. i pay them a set amount for 4 years and they negotiate my payoffs. One of my 3 payoffs already went to collections before they paid it off.

So can your bank take out money from your account if you have a credit card with them. Will my mortgage be affected
