Fantastic video thank you. Just for future reference my Freelander 2 2013 plate the DAB module is on the right (offside). It also has a green 4 pin power input socket not the black 2 pin.Worth checking which one you have before purchase. Managed to get one from Ebay £75. Landrover quoted £815!!! Thank you so much for your help with this issue.
Great video as usual. Don't think mine has DAB but am wondering if it can be retro fitted. Might be worth touching up the few rust patched on the dog guard near the welds and squirting some lanoguard in the tubes as they had some surface rust in.
Thanks - just fixed mine 20 minute job with a 50 quid unit from ebay -- did not need to remove the rubber seal as the trim pulls out from underneath . If you accidentally blow the interior light fuse ( the boot light is lit as the tailgate is open ! ) as I did strangely this also feeds the drivers door window control panel
Hello 🙂 Hmmm it’s likely it only does have FM. Bens Freelander 2 is a 2011 XS with the digital button but only receives FM/AM. You can probably buy the module but would need the aerial wire, which attaches to the last left passenger window. The radio would then have to programmed updating the CCF file using a suitable device. You can do it just need the components and updating of the radio 🙂🙌
Hello! 🙂 Hmm we are not sure it did this. I wonder if it’s the DVD drive under the drivers seat causing it? Can you hear any abnormal noises from under the seat? Very odd for the radio to cut. Try using the radio without the engine running. Does it start playing up when you change channel or frequency? Let us know how you get on! 🙏
Mine is doing that right now. I was putting it down to a faulty parking sensor, but it's now doing that even when I clear the sensor fault. It's now not recognising my phone on bluetooth. Time to replace the main unit I think.
We always forget do this! 🤣 Must be the excitement of putting it all back together without thinking does this even work yet? 😁 Will try to remember next time 🙏🤩
Hello! 🙂 What year of Freelander 2 do you have? Ahhh, depends on the trim level. Majority of the head units fitted have the FM digital button. However, Land Rover did not fit DAB systems into all trim levels (sneaky). You can update the ccf file on the unit and fit a DAB unit but this can be expensive. Unfortunately the units cannot be swapped over very easily as coded to the car.
