Alviso is the spiritual home of this youtube channel. Every time an alviso video comes out I get this homely feeling of like eating grandmas special apple pie or something like that. Oh and that music was sweet and hype btw.

Hopefully since San Jose and other bay area counties are coming into orange zone we can start running races again soon. I've tried riding hard with my under armour athlete facemask and I've had no issues breathing so It's definitely possible. Either that or have only so many people per team out there.

Great video as always! Just want to warn you about your affiliate links from amazon from a fellow RU-vidr. I was recently warned from amazon and almost banned for using the same wording for my affiliate links. Oh man, open road racing takes a lot of balls. That guy who clipped the pavement a second or two before an on-coming car could have spelled disaster. I've asked this question before but it must have been overlooked: What happens when the driver of a car parked on the right hand side of the road wants to leave? I'm assuming there's a common understanding between the locals and riders that a race is taking place, but what kind of agreement have the two parties come to?

I'm curious why my question regarding cars is not addressed. I don't think it's combative in any way; I'm simply curious to know the rules when drivers of parked cars want to exit the course.

I cant believe there were riders who crossed the double lines at 6.15 when there were cars travelling in the opposite direction! Do that in Australian sanctioned racing and your e DSQ and paying 200Aud

I have 32mm gp5000 on a 16mm inner width rim... These guys look like they are running 32s but it's just massive 28mm rims and probably 25c tires

I mean, I think this is special for you because you are a marked sprinter. Other riders are going to mark you as a known quantity. For "new" riders, I don't think there would be as much pressure on the individual to chase. Especially in 4/5 fields, teamwork is less and a lot of times it ends up being chase by committee.

True. I would just be careful that you're not dragging the whole field around in any category. If you're using energy try to make sure your competition also is using energy and not just sitting in the draft

Hey! What speed would you have if you used same power output as going 50 with a guy ahead of you, but then just on a flat road with no wind? I’m a beginner cycler (17yo, started a month ago) and this sport really is a lot of fun, however I only ride solo and can’t go as fast as you. Sprint Vmax is around 55km/h and I can sustain an average of 33km/h for 1 hour outside without wind and flat road. Any tips for me to improve very fast? Love your vids!

How are these races organised in the USA? in the UK, closed road races barely exist and when they do, they're usually continental teams and above.

How would you go about finding out about crit races in your local area? (Under normal circumstances pre-covid) I've been wanting to get into racing for such a long time but have absolutely 0 clue where to find a race. I've googled some stuff and the closest thing to a race I've found was a velodrome race by me on the only velodrome left where I live. (which I am totally going to try one day I just don't have a track bike)

One thing your video didnt show on the last lap was a couple riders behind the pack almost got plastered on the hood of that gray car by the school cause no one upfront yelled out the danger and the riders behind took the turn wide. Im all for competitive riding but we always looked out for each others safety first. This doesnt seem to be the case lately.

Pre-Covid it was every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch time. It's not a real race, just a group ride and most of us just live/work around the area.

It was doing maintenance or something. This isn't a route, it didn't have kids, it didn't have a stop sign out, etc. We do a recon lap beforehand and identify potential hazards, nothing to worry about.
