Great guidelines! I want to add something thats important for every beginner to know too: Everyone there was once a beginner and you have just as much right to be there as everyone else. Be considerate and mindful but focus on yourself and your own skills. You got this!
I started figure skating when i was young and then stopped for a while and then continued although i just do it for fun not on a team or comps i still enjoy it and i got my bff to find out she loves ice skating. Btw i noticed we go to the same place for ice skating😊
Damn so much it brings back to when I was younger and still competitively skating... Dbl jumps, spins, etc, (aaahhhh free style session's, jumping harnesses' are great too!!!) But now time has passed, I wish I could go back & start it all over!!! Love it... Stick with it if u truly love the sport of 'Figure Skating'!!! Tammy Sudol ❤️🥰❤️ xoxo xoxo xoxo xoxo xoxo
i agree! at my rink they provide these neon green elastic belts to show who is on their program. i wish people respected the right of way rule more tho bc i was on my program and this girl decided to run right behind me as i was setting up for a double lutz double toe. i had to fall to avoid the collision, ruining my $50 leggings. she then had the audacity to complain abt me to her coach. i was like gurllll 😭 my coach saw the whole thing and started a fight
@@user-bd2tu9dv1hDW BC THIS IS SO RELATABLE whenever i do my solo people don’t even care they literally stand there when im yelling excuse me while im wearing the bright neon vest also rip the 50 dollar leggings😭
youre also not allowed to do spirals or any move in with you blade out during footwork etc. during CROWDED sessions unless youre running your program. this is due to the fact that you can hit someone with your blade on accident during crowded ones. this isnt every rink however its good to know.
Omg i luv you so much u r such an inspiration for me, im starting my first figure ice skating classes, i already got some experience! And i never knowed the map of certain moves are done!!)) Thank you for showing it ❤❤❤
I have a friend who wants to start figure skating but she's scared of group lessons and in our figure skating club, when you biggen figure skating you need to take group lessons. Could you pls do a video to say that it's really cool? Cause me and my other friend are always telling hey that but she's still scared...
All the freestyle rules for our rink mornings and afternoon ( obrian icehouse ) 1. We are permitted to use only one airpod 2. All ways write your name in book and wait till its your turn to do program 3. Never push in line for program 4. ⚠️ give way to people who is wearing a orange or green (green means in lesson orange means playing program) And in finished
Yay she mentioned the right of way, at our rink we have can skate kids, I was doing my program and went to do a camel sit ( my legs are very long) the kids just stood in my way looking at me, I couldn't do my spin and ended missing five steps cu the music ended quicker
Today I went to a public session but the only people there were like people doing lessons. It was awkward even though I was also there to practice. Also oddly there were like 6 Russians on the ice
Although private coaches and their skater have the right of way when skating, is this reasonable?: typically, during public sessions, I'll have a corner I like to stay and practice in. I'd say if it was a box it would be like 10x10 feet. I'll be there practicing for like 20 minutes, and then a coach with their student will come into my area, typically forcing me to move or narrowing my area several feet. I've complained to friends and family about it and they've said that if I was there I shouldn't need to move. However, I usually end up moving. Is there anything different I can do?
