That crap they play on the radio and CMT, is just that CRAP! ! Marty and the boys are the real deal. These guys are cooler than the other side of the pillow. Hey - Jake O., Jason A, Luke B. And the rest of the pretty boy wannabes, LOOK,LISTEN, AND LEARN. Marty and the boys will show what real country music is .
Marty feels a certain responsibility to make sure that all that talent is put out in front of sll of us to enjoy and appreciate. These musicians have spent countless hours, days and years on their craft. And Marty makes sure we hear them.
Why the Hell was Lionel Ritchey on the Country Music Awards tonight instead of these guys?????? I don't even watch their crap anymore. Not that Lionel isn't good but he has no business on a country show when there are people like Marty who have been in the business with his whole heart and soul since he was old enough to hold a pick and make a chord on a mandolin.
I love Marty ,I really do ,but would someone please introduce that TALL lead guitar pickin fella in the blue "get up"to an old school hat salesman at a proper haberdashery "Hat Store" and sell him a proper hat thats about 2 sizes smaller so's it kinda rests comfortable a tiny bit above his ears, also it won't blow his head when he walks a outside during a wind storm ,,,,Thanks Ya'll,,,,,,
The twangy guitar on Hot Rod Lincoln is a Danelectro Longhorn. I've seen Bill Kirchen play it. This Jag sounds pretty sweet, too. Fine, fine stuff here!
Marty is a living legend in country music!!! He is a great singer and song writer!!! Marty rules the world!!! I always wanted to meet him!!! He is amazing!!!! Marty is the cats meow, the bees knees, and the chick in the hay, and the turkey in corn!!! I give this video 5 stars!!! He is great!!!
@moesciphish Good for you. The new country is just so predictable. I appreciate guys like Brad Paisley but I just can't listen to his MUSIC!! It is written for mass consumption-predictable, generic, bland. These guys are so frickin' good it's silly. Would love to see this band live.
Ya, I dont listen to radio anymore unless i have to. I found a new way by RU-vid of hearing the legends, Marty, J .Cash, Waylon & Willie etc.etc.etc. I dont see me changing my taste any time soon either B-)
We can all be part of Marty's "new" popularity! Help make him # 1. Let him feel our love....Country is ready for some "new" (old) sound! I think people are sick of the "new" country sound...
Yeah but do you like him? Come on tell us how you really feel. lol Just kidding. Oh and I agree with you, Marty's great and he has the best band in country music.
The kind of guitar Kenny uses in this video is a Fender Jaguar. The guitar played in "Hot Rod Lincoln" must be an old orchestra/jazz guitar from Gretch, Gibson or similar.
You're right, Marty is a great star. He has a show on RFDTV (Direct TV satellite) which I enjoy recording and watching. He is generous with stage time, featuring his band members, his wife, Connie Smith, and very gracious to his guests. The show is very much an old time music show in every way that is a good show.
I had the chance to see Marty and Connie at Renfro Valley this year........Awesome show! If you get a chance to see either one......buy a ticket and go.
Marty and his folks carry the tourch for thr reall countrymusic.......you get a show of stars not a star...just like the package shows of my youth....they would come to the KRNT theater in Des Moines....i remember Bill Anderson Dolly Ernest Tubb Sonny James ,Johnny Cash ,Stonewall,Grandpa Jones,.Minnie Pearl.Jack Greene, all the Opry greats....it was good stuff back then and its great stuff today
Marty Stuart has this great throwback sound to many of his country songs and also his gospel material. Killer guitar licks from Marty & Kenny (just listen to Hummingbyrd) on the Ghost Train CD! Marty also excels in bluegrass, I mean, talk about being versitile! I'd stack Marty & his band up against ANY country band today.
I saw Marty Stuart at the New Oprey House in Nashville Tennessee. Then visited Ernest Tubbs Midnight Jamboree. Lo and behold Marty turned up, jumped up on stage with Charlie Louvin and bought the house down ! ! !
Kenny Vaughan can effin play a guitar!!! Gah this is my kind of music. I grew up on this stuff in the dancehalls. Its awesome to see this kind of music is still being played. Country nowadays is just pop music with fiddles and steel guitars. And it makes me sick. But this is top notch stuff right here.
