went to the dealer and ask for a manual fan switch with my vin # even tho i had no empty slots , they gave me one 43$ , i remove a switch that i never use , installed the switch 5 minutes and boom it worked perfect , Gracias francisco el mecanico queria cobrarme 150 por esto haha , cascadia 2011

I see a lot of people saying they want to add this switch but nobody is saying what for. I would assume that they want to keep the engine cooler, but shouldn't it do that automatically? I have a 2016 and 2017 Cascadia with DD15 and they both always sit right at 200 degrees during normal running, except during hard, extended uphill pulls and even then never get into the red. And that's about the only time I ever hear the fan come on. In fact I'd say I wish I could make the engine run warmer- If it idles in the cold, the temp on the 2017 can drop as low as 150. On the 2016 I can run the idle up to keep the temp closer to 200 but unless it's summer it won't even get that high. I have run overweight loads in the summer, in traffic, uphill, and still don't have overheating issues. I feel like if you are wanting to run your fan more to keep your engine cool, what you really need to look at is maybe your water pump, your coolant quality, your thermostat, or something similar because it sure seems like these engines do a great job of keeping cool already.

Does this work on a dd13 2013

I have a 2012 Cascadia DD15 my fan is continuously running. I have changed the solenoid but it's still running continuously. I have tested the fan clutch and it is working as it poses to work. What could be the problem? I have tried to find a fuse but couldn't find it in the main fuse box in the glove compartment or the hood by the steering column. Is there any fuse for the solenoid if there is one where it could be? Please help. Thanks

I have the exact opposite happening with my unit. It's a 2010 cascadia and the engine fan won't shut off. What could be the problem? If I add this switch, can I shut the fan off manually? This is a real problem for me, because the fan running constantly is killing my mpg. Any ideas? Anybody..

This method will not work on 2011 and up trucks. You need to get access to CPC harness/grey connector (CPC is located under dashboard behind of right panel, top right corner, black module with four different colored connectors). Two cavities must be added and regular switch or cascadia's dash OPT switch must be added. No reprogramming needed. I have done on many trucks. When 2/13 cavity is shorted to 2/2 cavity which is ground fan will come on after 10 sec. For detailed info how to add fan switch read DDEC10 A&I manual.

I have added this switch and it does not work. I have the standard DDL of course I cannot program it. I talked with Freightliner shop and they say they have to run wires from the motor to the fan switch in order to make it work. They say they cannot do it with the computer. Which leads me to believe they don't know how to do it. Can you give me a breakdown of how they do it with the software. thanks
