@@hunterhillesheim2173 Almost 5,000 miles on my chinese Brozz 250. Only thing it needs is a new rear tire and maybe valve seals if I'm being picky. Just a small bit of smoke after a week long rest.

I used to dabble in things like this but now all my tools live in the woods with each tool representing a story of frustration, anger and disappointment while trying to fix stuff. I visit them once in a while but otherwise do not disturb them.

Maybe if you could control your emotions you might be a better mechanic than you are now. I worked with a crybaby mechanic and he was always upset having to work on a car that was too wet or too hot. Eventually it came out he was gay and his boyfriend was cheating on him with a technician.

Great to see it going. The yellow wire should go to your neutral safety circuit to get it's ground, a bad safety switch or out of adjustment could cause you to see 12v and not ground.

Could have a seat switch in line with the neutral safety. Not sure if these have those though.

We have a automotive shop and we use a vacuum bleeder on cooling systems. They are the way to go especially on something like that that has coolant lines running long distances.

Joe, the cap serves a few functions when used with the over flow tank. First it will push air and water out into the overflow during warmup, but on cooldown it will only draw water back in, the cap and tank help keep air out of the system, as long as their are no leaks that stop a vacuum from forming on cooldown. Second, the cap maintains pressure on the coolant, raising its boiling point and keeping it from boiling over at 212. Depending on when the cooling fan is set to come on by the switch, it could overheat when not moving because the cap is off or bad and then the temp can’t raise high enough to trigger the fan (if the trigger is above 212) because it boils over first. I’m betting though that your vehicle fan triggers a lot lower than a regular car, which often times is 215-220 degrees, sometimes higher.

@@GNX157 you shouldn’t be adding your opinions to anyone else’s videos first off, second that wasn’t the intention of my comment, my comment is that this kid has somehow managed to gain a following on RU-vid by doing the wrong thing but making it work, I get you feel the need to try and explain his position, (I don’t actually understand trying to speak for someone you don’t know) but regardless the post meant he doesn’t do things the right way, he stumbles his way around things, puts together dirty parts with out checking the big picture diagnosis, anyone can make an engine fire up, it’s takes actual skill and knowledge to make it run well and make power. Something this kid has yet to master, technicians trouble shoot, mechanics and builders fix things and make power, anyone can figure out how to make gas and spark go boom, that’s not talent, that’s the basic rudimentary process of combustion

I think what you do is really cool. Also, very helpful info to help me maintain my machines. One recommendation when getting a neglected machine is to use Pri-G if you think it has old gas. We had stale gas in a turbo charged Can Am machine that caused it to sputter. Pri-G rejuvenated the stale gas and it ran perfectly.

If you look back on your assembly video the pin was on the water pump shaft when you put it together so if you're still in the case or it fell out when you drained it before you took the side case off

Tough lessons full rebuild always test pump impeller and replace thermostat, I have been there unfortunately lots of extra work. on a positive note, at least you have more great content to share!

Wow that turned out nice. That yellow wire from the solenoid probably goes to a safety switch that connects to ground to prevent it starting in a certain situation. The reason it showed positive was the positive voltage on the green wire was traveling through the solenoid coil and coming out the other side to the yellow, and you will see that voltage if that side is not grounded.

Joe look back on the rebuild. When you put it together I think I saw you turn the impeller and I said to myself why did that turn it shouldn't. Should be tight !:-/

I would want to know how that pin fell out and why. That's a critical part like the proverbial nail in the horse's shoe eventually led to the loss of the battle. That pin has to be somewhere. You have amazing patience to work on such difficult machines that aren't designed for easy maintenance and repair. I would get too frustrated.

Awesome to see how it originally failed now. The fan fuse broke, which made it overheat over and over again, which destroyed the cylinder walls and pistons due to excessive expansion and contraction from heat cycles.

Joe, when you strap the side by side down always strap the tyres and never like you had it because everytime you go over a bump in the road the bike goes down on the suspension which loosens the straps then when the suspension comes back up it snaps the straps tight which could break the straps. This goes for all vehicles when tying down.

wow that's actually a pretty nice setup with the threaded holes in the secondary clutch. Freaking Polaris you have to buy a special Pry tool to spread the plates.I just rebuilt the engine in a 2012 Polaris RZR 900 XP. Huge pain in the ass to work on a Polaris engine.

Good video. My take is when you measured a “positive”” on the yellow wire, you were actually measuring back through the solenoid coil to the 12v positive--no voltage drop through coil since it wasn’t drawing any current. The yellow wire was not grounded, maybe because it was interlocked to brake pedal switch (as another post pointed out)You supplied the ground to make it work. Maybe the real culprit was the brake pedal interlock switch?
