Frida Boccara won the Eurovision Song Contest in Madrid in 1969 with the song Un Jour, Un Enfant alongside three other winners!
For the first time in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest, the outcome of the voting resulted in a tie for first place. Four countries gained 18 points each: France, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Since there was no solution for this situation, all four countries were declared winners. Luckily, there were four medals available to the four winning singers - the four medals were originally intended for the winning singer and three winning songwriters.

I love the detail of releasing the songs of the 4 finalists from 1969 when these 4 countries are in the semi-final of the European football championship, and also on the same day!

@@GompBeanies There was no tiebreak system back in 1969, so they were declared the joint-winners of the contest. (Needless to day, a tiebreak system was quickly implemented for 1970)

Having watched all four “winning” performances, I can confidently say that this is the one that stays with you. Strong voice, beautiful melody, wonderful lyrics - what’s not to love? Some French songs at the ESC are just perfect…

for me this is the winning song. This song is a MASTERPIECE!!!. The melody is beautiful, the arrangement is great with the violins, and of course the performance of Frida is wonderful. amazing! VOCAL!!! And ofc the outfit too - beautiful classic dress. Everything here is perfect.

*FUN FACTS: In 1964, Boccara had submitted the song "Autrefois" ("In the past") to the French Eurovision Song Contest selection panel, but she was unsuccessful. Boccara renewed her links with Eurovision by participating in the French national finals of 1980 - performing "Un enfant de France" - and 1981 - with "Voilà comment je t'aime". However, neither song was selected.*

'Voilà comment je t'aime' should have been their entry in 1981 for sure. It's a timeless chanson and deserves to be known more.

@@DanTony68 The Virtual RU-vidr (Vtuber) company Hololive has an English branch called HololiveEN and one of the talents (Vtubers) on that branch is Takanashi Kiara. The reason why most people think she can't participate is because the Vtuber company she's part of is Japanese but actually she can because she was born and lives in Salzburg Austria 🇦🇹
