I like how Craig's "girlfriend" at the beginning calls him up to confront him about seeing another girl..............while she has a dude laying on her bed 😂🤣😂🤣😂

The jokes were funny back then and are funny today.

The reason the business says black owned is because the riots in 1992 when Korean store where heavily destroyed. Especially after Latasha Wright was killed by Korean store owner. Black owned businesses were mostly spared from looting.

I love how almost everyone in the film has their own music whenever you meet them or they enter a scene.

I can't say I didn't enjoy the extra scenes but I do agree the theatrical version is better. Great review guys. This movie is so quotable

90s comedy was about being offensive... it wasn’t a bug, it was the feature. I try to always reference the climate of the movies I watch.

I gotta be honest, hating Friday, is like hating yourself! This film is a MAJOR classic!! This is one of those films that never ages, no matter how far we go into the future! A timeless classic! Great cast, great characters, great score, memorable lines and just all around, a pure gold film! Huge shout out to both John Witherspoon {Craig's father} & Tom Lister {Deebo} who are no longer with us, due to their unfortunate passing. They WILL be missed! Also, may Bernie Mac rest in peace as well. Friday is a timeless classic! And it will always be remembered, as long as there is a Friday, every week! 😎👍

Yo, the theatrical cut of this movie is the only cut of the movie that matters. The director’s cut is a sin. Good on you Iain for noticing. That shit kills some of the best jokes of the film with the additional scenes. Kills th momentum.

Mike Epps is cool, but there's only one Chris Tucker and you know this... MAN!!

I recently rewatched this film, and I was going to recommend it!!!! Hilarious!!!!! The gun play at the end took me out the film a little bit, but I felt the core message of Jon Witherspoon ( the father) to his son Craig about putting the guns down and fighting old school was important. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you lived to fight another day. I don’t know how you can reboot this movie when so many of the hilarious cast from the first movie has passed on. RIP: John Witherspoon, Bernie Mac, and Tiny Lister. I love Chris Tucker, but an older version of that character, Smokey without his crazy weed smoking ways doesn’t sound as funny to me. I think Friday was a movie of it’s time, and I don’t think they should try to recreate it. They have the sequels which I have not watched. Hollywood needs to lay off the sequels and reboots. Friday is one of the greatest buddy stoner comedy movies of all time due to it's witty and clever dialogue and humor, emotional resonance, and performance's by the cast. Ice Cube and Chris Tucker did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Craig and Smokey as they both put tons of emotion and depth into their roles. It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎💯👍

I heard that Ice Cube wanted to do a Friday movie that takes place in a prison but the studio refused because they didn't think prison was comedic subject matter.

I love the original Friday. Its one of those movies I watch and wish I was there lol From your description of the extended version I think I'd definitely prefer the original. I also really enjoy Next Friday, though its a bit more unrealistic. Friday After Next was rubbish though.

If he lost his job how does he have Friday off? 🤣 Wow, I didn't realise there was two different versions. I have Friday on DVD, it's been a while since I've seen it but near sure it's the original (Theatrical) version. I don't know if I like the other opening you described as I liked how the characters are introduced as the movie moves along. I don't see why we need to see them all at the start. Thats a bit stupid, but maybe its just what you're used to.

My mom took me too see it when I was 5 people was like tf you letting this baby watch this movie. But it worth it it was a classic movie…

I will say as somebody who was raised in the hood The prominent use of the n-word in this movie is quite authentic. Although I would say in my experience it was only a handful of people who really use the n word and when they used it boy they ended every freaking sentence with that word.
