I can hear him humming, like playing at home while singing the song!!!! He really is enjoying the stage just as if he's playing by himself 😂 he's a legend on a another whole level of awesomeness 😭

Gulda plays Mozart without any sentimentality. And because of that its more true than nearly every other interpretation

Friedrich and his comfortable clothing initiated comfortable interpretations. This is one of those performances you’re not sure if it’s the wonderful piano or the guy’s fantastic playing. Makes those staccato’d keys sound beautiful

As much as I like and am amazed at his and Uchida's speed in the 1st part, I think it's uncalled for.

there is a truth, a spontanious reality in the playing, like seeking just the right expression for this very moment, eternity is not long, but just doing the right thing in the moment.

@yeahyes3615
@yeahyes3615 3 года назад
He plays it with personality BUT WITH CORRECT TIMING. Unlike overrated showoffs like horowitz who play stuff either too quiet or too loud, mainly when coming to mozart. They will play stuff so stupidly and fall on the wrong beat or a half late or behind, make it essentially hard to listen to
@sebastianciarfella3061
@sebastianciarfella3061 2 года назад
@@yeahyes3615 ok you might call him anything you want: overrated, a showoff, and what not (even if greats like Martha Argerich, Daniil trofonov, Evgeny kissin, and others might STRONGLY disagree with you), but let me tell you, his Mozart is probably one of the most controlled, nuanced yet non-chalant piano playing of all time. It's just a matter of checking his sonata in the 1986 concert. I can tolerate different opinion, but not blind accusations.

Alternativen: Perahia, Serkin, Haebler, Anda, Pirez, Ushida, Barenboimm Buchbinder u.a.
