That is exactly how my doctor described to me my daughter's hearing because she had fluid in her ears and needed tubes twice because of it. 2. A baby recognizes thier mother's mother's voice after they're born because they can hear it in the womb. That's why babies, even adopted at birth and go to the most wonderful family, will expeirience primal tramua, because although they can't verbalize it, it is traumatic to be torn away from everything that child has been exposed to (not drugs or alchohol, I am refering to a birth mom that didn't do this stuff) the mother's smell and voice while they were in the womb.

I’m not 100% sure she cheated on Ross. She definitely cheated during the flashback episode but that was non-canon. Carol started dating Susan after breaking up with Ross, and although Ross says that carol “left him for Susan” it’s never really confirmed that she was unfaithful to Ross, and I think it’s just that she came out to Ross after realizing she was a lesbian.

I don't know if Ross was calling Carol a hypocrite because she cheated, or it was just a joke, because she slept with a woman herself.

That's pretty much her character in a nutshell she was angry when Ross was wanting to discuss Baby names, she didn't want Ben to have Ross's last name and she referred to Ross and Bobo the sperm guy to his unborn child.

I’ve seen a couple of people saying this and honestly I don’t see it? If anything with any interaction she and Ross had, HE was the one being passive-aggressive towards her and she was just matching his energy… treating people the way they treat you and all that

HE was the one still held up on Carol and even tried to seduce her a couple of times while she was with SUSAN and had already chosen her as her partner (even though Carol didn’t help that situation when she kissed Ross but that was for them to figure out)… He was the one still acting entitled and like a pseudo partner, acting like he still had some claim over Carol and always trying to one-up Susan in front of Carol like the petty man that he is. Don’t get me wrong, I like Ross but let’s not pretend he was a saint and didn’t always try to ruin things when they didn’t go his way.

@@cyn341 so? Suzan clearly seduced Carol while Carol was still with Ross too. So no side here is really innocent. Obviously he's going to continue to seduce her, he loved Carol. She was his wife, and again he was very angry and hurt that he lost her in general let alone to another woman. Like I said, nobody would act perfect in that situation. Suzan understood why Ross was upset and she couldn't careless.

@@cyn341 Ross never tried to seduce Carol, and even if he did, that'd make him and Susan even 'cause she seduced Carol and ruined his marriage. Also, Ross never acted entitled, except in the episode with the sonogram, in which case he actually IS entitled because that's his biological son. When Susan yells 'because he's my baby too!' Uh, no he isn't. She seduced the baby's mother and broke up her marriage to his father, and Ross decided to be involved and do right by his kid even though Carol WASN'T EVEN GOING TO GIVE THE BABY HIS FATHER'S SURNAME. As well as that, Susan and Ross are honestly just as bad as one another but Susan is the homewrecker. Whenever they try to one-up each other, most people are on Ross' side. He absolutely has a right to be angry with her. She's just a bitch. Ross isn't a saint on his own. He's a saint when compared to Susan, and I'm really glad she stopped making regular appearances on the show because she's an awful person.

I think the whole Rose's insecurity was because of Carol and she was never held accountable for her cheating. Just shown in love like wtf? You destroyed a man. Ross was held accountable for cheating on Rachel. Damn now when I look back at friends it's just not the show I fell in love with.

@@faizidexi we fail to acknowledge how progressive Ross is towards this whole thing. Ross understands that she didn't marry him and get pregnant out of malicious intent. It was because Carol mistook her caring for Ross into thinking that she loved Ross. But then she meet someone that made her understand what love really is. Ross could of gone though a homophobic phase and had reason to lash out, but he didn't. Ross' love for Carol is so grand that he was able to use that to move on and heal.

I think you need to understand this isn't a simple case of infidelity, Carol was a lesbian in a heterosexual marriage and had probably been denying her sexuality her whole life. She didn't set out to cheat, she expected she was just making friends with someone, and Susan believed she was just making friends with a straight girl. Then they fell in love, obviously, which clearly Carol didn't expect, and what did she do, then? She came clean and got a divorce. Carol was always a lesbian, but hadn't discovered it, and when she did discover it, she ended her heterosexual marriage, what else should she have done?

They're likely able to hear their mother because they are physically attached to the source of the vibration, but they can't hear other people (like Susan) as sound does an incredibly poor job of transferring through mediums. This comments section is frustratingly packed with people who absorbed the former fact at some point and have taken the liberty of extrapolating that it must also apply to external sources of sound. This is an easy thing to test and verify. Next time you take a bath just put some music on and stick your head under the water for a few seconds, you will hear exactly what someone else's bun the oven hears when you read them a story; absolutely nothing.

That, or she knows what it means to be a lesbian in the 90s and keeps her finger on the trigger, so to speak, since Carol still having to interact with her heterosexual past (her son Ben with Ross) could lead Susan to think there's a chance she might go back to it, so she pushes back against Ross as much as she can (though she does cut him slack later on)

@@chaosspy6723 Or maybe it's not that she doesn't get it, but rather that Susan was again trying to make their new lesbian livelihood stick by trying to get Carol to do same-sex parenting. It's very clear that Ross and Carol still care for each other even if they aren't married, and that irritates Susan to no end, so she tries to exert her presence where she can, with the most obvious being taking over parenting and pushing Ross out. Susan might have had a chip on her shoulder about proving that a lesbian relationship could work without the involvement of a man.

Sad it is like this in reality and will be even more when such relationships are more and more accepted as normal or even more normal than normal. I have nothing againgst gays but children should nto be involved in this.

Do we know for a fact that Carol deliberately lied to Ross about being lesbian or is it possible that not even she knew she was one until she met Susan and started having more feelings for her than she did for Ross? I don't know if you're aware of this, but not everyone knows their sexuality right away, and for some people, it isn't until later in life and they're married that they realize they are gay/lesbian? I've met people where one parent didn't know he or she was gay/lesbian until after they'd already had a family together, so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Carol herself didn't know she was lesbian when she and Ross got married

@@NYChica23 Well Carol waited until she had what no woman could give her before declaring she was a lesbian and after she had been wed thus securing Ross's paternity and money. I'm pretty sure there is an episode where the fact she experimented in college is mentioned so her lesbian nature was not a surprise to her. How long after the pregnancy was her infidelity with a woman declared, almost immediately? I am not so familiar with the timeline but there is definitely some Feminine scheming here. And her partner seemed awfully willing to slot into the 2 mother role as if it was ready planned. It isn't a well written running plot but Ross is the butt of the jokes throughout when really he is the injured party in it all. Utterly taken for a ride.
