@@saincx0m9 No, you were right about the subtitled part so sub means Japanese subtitled but since it is the original it would not be dubbed, well technically yes every form of anime you watch is dubbed but to call it the dub could apply to any one of them and its easier and more specific to say sub or the original version
Even so we aren't in our golden era for voice acting anymore. As a Brazilian I needed to grow with the voice as I didn't see it fitting with the character. Same thing happened with a bunch of characters in Overlord, namely Albedo, Mare and Demiurge

@@Daichi777 Si, además también es cierto que uno se acostumbra a la voz de doblaje que escuchas más tiempo. La voz en inglés también me sonó raro al principio porque no se parece a la voz original en japonés, pero después de unos capítuos te acostumbras, pero si hubiera visto ela serie con el doblaje en inglés primero no me hubiera sonado raro. Es como escuchar por primera vez la voz original de Gokú adulto en japonés en DBZ cuando ya la has escuchado en otros idiomas en los que su voz sí cambió con la edad.

Cause übel can indeed mean "evil" or "bad", but it also gets associated with something like "nasty", "putrid", "vile", etc. You can say something like "mir ist übel", "I feel like I need to puke". So that together with her green hair and I had to assiociate her with being stinky. Then people got obsessed with her armpits...
I'm Japanese Of all the dubbings, Ukrainian is the one that best reproduces the original. 0:37 It's うひょー！ U hyō！ instead of Yippee! Tamil is the second best.
They all sound so cute. Also, the Portuguese and English both have the goddamn deep mommy voice. I equally like them all. Great job to all the voice actresses.
They did not have to give Frieren such a deep, soothing voice in the English dub 😅. I could listen to her for hours just reading off random spells from a grimmoire. NOW I see why anime elf girls get so much love 😅
@@Senji-Ch. It is, watch a full episode. The way BR dub fits with the scenes is just perfect. (I know this is a personal opinion, I'm just exaggerating to emphasize how good BR dub is).
Não sei como ficou a dublagem completa em inglês mas no português a dubladora deu um "ar frio"( uma personalidade séria) para a personagem durante praticamente o anime todo. Dizer qualquer palavra perecida com yahoo séria estranho e não combinaria com a personalidade que a dubladora deu pra ela. Fiquei surpreso quando vi a frieren comemorar em outros idiomas.
@@thedestiny2863 you are totally wrong. if you are french, you are just a moron who just think VO is cooler and know anything to dub and if you are not French, the philosophy of french dub is to make the speech natural in french, not to be faithful to the original way to talk. it's way the French dub tend to be far less crazy than japanese one.
@@sebasoler5347 the problem is that the french dub is made by so few people that they do multiple roles in the same anime and there is wayyy less emotion then in vo. There may be good one but not for most anime. If you prefer to listen to it in another language it's fine but you're mostly missing out like the re:zero vo is one of the best that could exist if you haven't watched it fo it in vo but in the end do whatever you want

Is the Ukranian version playing the Japanese audio on the background? Or is it just echo? Alas, tho I'm a original dub purist, I could see myself watching some episodes with the Ukranian voices. Pretty good, at least in this tiny clip.
In general, the voice choices for Frieren in almost all the dubs convince me, however his voices in English and Brazilian Portuguese seem a little too deep and serious to me. And I know that Frieren has thousands of years old, but she still has a young appearance and that's what reflect the voice in the VO. But in those dubs, for some reason, I think they chose older voices to give her a vibe of a waifu ara ara XD
You know that the Ispanic Kingdom was at the top of the gerarchy in Italy for centuries? That's why Spanish and Italian sounds similar, both the languages took something from the other! Basically we are like cousins, in a way.
Japanese yippee!(UHYOOO!) is a gender-neutral shout. It is a little boyish, though. For example, when Luffy or Goku finds a treasure, a rare animal, or a strong opponent, they say UHYOOO! I feel that Frieren's dubbing of UHYOOO!!! is too feminine in some languages.
The part where she praises Stark is why I watch the Japanese dub. It's just not as authentic and real in other languages. The English version even sounds a little erotic for some reason.
@@ourinator692 to me it sounds like she’s out of breath. I certainly wouldn’t immediately assume it has a sexual connection. Especially given the scene, the character, and the dialog. I think you might just be jumping to conclusions because I’ve heard numerous people speak like that. Even I, myself, have done it before.
Latin America usually has high quality dubs, and Frieren is no exception. Unlike the English dub, the voices all sound very natural and in character in the LA dub. I'd even go as far to say its the closest one to the original (Ukranian also sounds pretty good).
I'm from Mexico and Latin American Spanish dubs have really plummeted in quality in the last decade, like I rarely watch non-spanish language movies and series dubbed.

Japanese is the best for me. I can't imagine Frieren without the Japanese voice. Ukrainian is the second best. Didn't like English dub. Doesn't fit Frieren's charecter at all.
