I was about to take the door panel off but was able to find the channel on the right side and left side by looking through the side of the door. Got the right side started and worked it down about 3/4 then locked in the left side.

Had to take the door loose from the dish washer to find the slot that the bottom seal has to be forced into so that it stays in place. You can’t just push it under the edge of the door. Then left the outside panel off and started it to see where the next leak was due to rust mid panel and discovered the second leak was around the control box. So next fix will be trying to seal it. Hopefully I can seal it with silicon for water based applications.

Your video was so helpful. I did however have to remove the bottom rack all the way out to see the slit because I was just pushing it in and it fell right back out, but I got a flathead screwdriver. Put it in the slit and make sure it was clean then I was able to put the Gasket right in and it stayed in open and close the door couple of times just to test it out and it was perfect. Thank you so much.

I was struggling to get the seal to catch the channel/slot at the end you are pushing into the unit. However a butter knife helped me finally get the seal threaded in to stay. I started applying lever pressure using the butter knife on the underside of the seal, which is also long and flat enough the thread the rubber into the channel properly as you move across from one side to the other. If your new seal comes kinked in the mail like mine, use a hair dryer on high over it for a few minutes and it should flatten out. I would recommend this before trying to install. Take your time and you will get it right good luck.

Thanks for the tip. We usually recommend using a hair dryer or placing it in warm water in your bathtub. Both methods work well.

My door or tub had swollen as to where I couldn't get the gasket in the slot. I took the front cover off the door (2 screws and slide down) then removed the door bolts from the hinges (2 each side) then was able to lift the edge up to see where it went and had room to put it in with no issues. Just put the bottom edge of the door with the seal in the tub and bolt everything up in reverse order. Done in 10 minutes after fighting with it as shown in video for a hr.

While pushing the seal into the slot, also apply a light pressure in the bottom of the seal, so it gonna catch the groove that will keep it in place...Otherwise the seal do not hold in place

This video seems to suggest you just push in the new gasket and... hey presto! In the end I had to remove the door to find the channel where the rear of the gasket slotted in. No leaks now. You don't just shove it in, it has to be level

I was able to do this with no problem WITHOUT taking the door off. I am no expert by any means. The only difficulty for me was taking the old seal out, but a pair of pliers did the trick.

Well I have tried to slide it into position multiple times and it has come right back out into the bottom of the dishwasher every time so I obviously don’t have the touch. Believe I’ll remove the door. Thanks for y’all’s responses. :)

So I inserted this gasket into the slot at the bottom of the door and every time I close and open the door, it comes out into the bottom of the dishwasher. I watched how you installed it and did the same way. What am I doing wrong please?

Get down and look through the hole near the door hinge so you can see where it should be seated. Just pushing it through obviously does not automatically catch the area. It has to be guided.

Open the door, but don't lay it flat. Instead, leave it at an angle of 10 to 20 degrees from the floor. Then, use your fingers to feel the slit at the bottom; this is where you should insert the seal.

Does the lip of the seal need to point upward or downward? I see diverging instructions regarding that aspect among videos fir the same dishwasher

when I removed the cover, it appeared that water was spraying out through the little holes. is that normal? I would hate the replace the gasket and it not fix the problem since the new gasket would have the same little holes.

I have the same exact problem.. used my big brain to cover the holes with electric tape and in the middle of cycle water leaks out still through the middle about 30 minutes in (I now know the holes are supposed to be unconvered)... did you ever figure out if the holes are 'supposed' to let water through? maybe i somehow have too much water?? And/or are the holes supposed to be 'all the way in".. the video made it look so darn easy... unfortunately i need a roll of paper towels for each wash :(

@@Phoenixxx18485 my gasket was too wide for some reason, which caused it to not be fully inserted, so I ended up just snipping off the ends. Hasn’t fallen out since.

I think there is a problem no one is mentioning. The bottom door gasket slips into a "groove" - but the groove is made of rubber/plastic; and, on my dishwasher, is has completely disintegrated so there is no way the gasket can stay in place. I find no reference online to replacing that plastic/rubber groove on the base of the door that needs to hold the gasket seal in place. It seems no dishwasher repair people address this.
@the_griswolds8608

The edge with the double seal slides into a channel on the back of the inside door panel. You can't see it. If you don't get into the groove, the seal will push in until it disappears. When it is in the groove, you won't be able to push it in any more, and just the flexible edge will be showing.

@@the_griswolds8608 of all the videos I've watched this comment made all the difference for me. I was able to finally get the gasket in knowing there is a groove. Took some work , waiting on side splash things now

I have put this new seal in and it still leaks but now its leaking where you can see the electronics bundle comes out. Could you please tell us if the holes are supposed to be out where you see them or is it supposed to shoved up there where you do not see the holes?

Frigidaire = worlds worst piece of leaky crap. If there was a lemon law for dishwashers this would be recalled.

Mine melts the sprayer disk on the heating unit. Replaced twice and melted both within 2 weeks. Called manufacturer and they said it had no recall and since the unit was out of warranty, I had to pay for repair which is buying the same crappy replacement part to melt again. Pretty much told the no way in h%$# I was giving them anymore money for their faulty design. Those things were $60 apiece. So now I have to tye strap the disk together for it to work properly till it melts the tye straps, then repeat. My dishwasher was just past 1 yr old and did not want to buy another. The sprayer bar has to much weight on 1 end that causes the sprayer disk to rest on the heating element. Also have noticed a melted area under my heating element. It has not melted all the way through but i cant help but wonder. You have 1 thing right. This is an expensive hunk of junk. I usually don't have a problem with Frigidaire, but my experience has soured me from buying anything else from them. That being said, I had to replace the seal this week due to severe leaking. You can get down all the way on the floor to look through the hole to see where it is supposed to be seated because just pushing it through the slot won't do it. Then try installing it that way. If that does not work, you will have to remove the door panels.

Ridiculous. You absolutely have to take the front panel off and even with that it’s a challenge to get the gasket seated properly.

Frigidaire dish washers are crap. NEVER never never ever buy one. 2 of my family members (different states) each bought the same "affordable" dishwasher at Lowes. Both started leaking around the same time. I have worked on both - replaced gaskets, washers, rubber seals and they STILL leak. There's a white strip around the door with holes YES HOLES (I replaced to no avail!) where water was gushing out like a waterfall.
