In this video, I show you how to take apart and find possible culprits of a noisy Frigidaire or Electrolux Dryer. Common things you have to look at include the roller wheels, and blower housing obstructions, but there are a few other items that are less frequently the cause of issues that we look at.
Parts that were shown or replaced in the video:
Frigidaire Dryer Roller Wheel (Individual): bens-appliances.com/products/...
Choice Parts Frigidaire / Electrolux Noise Repair Kit which includes 5x roller wheels & shafts, pulley, and belt: bens-appliances.com/products/...

Recently, our Samsung dryer (it's about 8 years old) was making horrible noises like it was tumbling boulders. I remember as a child it usually meant that our dryer's belt was slipping or completely off. My husband opened up the dryer, looked in and around and claimed he saw nothing. Never told me he looked inside. I kept complaining. Then one day, our laundry area had a minor flood. We had to move the units to clean around and under. I mentioned that now would be a good time to look into the dryer. He was a bit irritated, but to entertain my thoughts, he opened up and had me look in. I told him I would need the drum out to look in. Lo and behold - 3 of the 4 rollers were flat. Fortunately, he had replacement parts and swapped all of the out, the belt, and other pieces he thought would be necessary for maintenance. Once completed, I ran the dryer and it was very quiet. Sometimes, you need to take it all apart ro see the big picture.

Ben, thank you for all the hard work showing us how to fix our appliances. You've saved me the frustration of trying to call someone. PS, I just ordered the noise kit for my Whirlpool Gas Dryer. I have the confidence I can do it myself after watching this video. :)

a dryer that hadn't been used for a long time sounded like someone was inside with a rubber hammer . after a few uses , it ran smoothly again . guessing the rollers got flat spots from lack of use . i love it when something fixes itself .

Nice work. Nice attention to details. Just changed the idler arm and pulley on WED8500BCO Dryer. It would jolt the cabinet upon start up. The pulley was binding and rough to turn. Still got a little plump plump durning rolling . Rollers spin fine though.

Back about the turn of the century as my roomie was out doing her shopping I changed out the ceiling fan in the dinette area with one that was of her taste. After she got home I was on my 2nd 40 oz beer as kind of a victory dance. I kept my mouth shut as she was on the precipice of ornery until I told her to check the dryer's progress while she was going to the kitchen where it was located. Drying some towels as a test I had also changed the rollers and the belt while It was apart eliminating the sound of a shovel full of gravel it seemed to have had for quite some time. After it sunk in she comes back and says those life learned words of Tony Viscosi when realizing I pulled a fast one, "Have another beer!" The parts cost me less than $15.00 in a trade deal with a buddy in that business.

Hi Ben, can wool dryer balls cause any damage? They make a bit of a ruckus when the dryer is running.
