Felony stop for an idiot mistake. Why didn't she verify the information before acting. This level of incompetence would not be tolerated at McDonald's.
@frr5688 And you're saying that's enough? That idiot needed to be fired on the spot. That mistake with those consequences and idiot cops going to the wrong address for a felony search are unacceptable. Then they wonder why law abiding citizens don't trust them.
were she from black people don't legally own nice things. its not only white cops who see black folks with nice things automatically think they may have stole it.
@@F511BHSno one’s life was taken thankfully despite the negligence and incompetence of the supposed “Frisco’s Finest”. Great use of our tax dollars here threatening innocent people, cuffing kids and drawing their weapons. What a crock of shit
@@F511BHS These police already made a dozen ridiculous mistakes. Yes the innocent civilians lives were in danger in case there was any more "misunderstandings".
Jesus..thank you so much for keeping this incident from resulting in these people getting killed. Its terrifying just watching so I can imagine what they were feeling. Wow...🤦🏽😞
So you saw an out of state plate, a dodge charger, and ran the plates. Why? Why did you run the plates? Are we really just running plates whenever it's someone from a nearby stare? This could have been a tragedy, but the passengers are still left with the trauma of a gun in their face.
The department's excuse is that Dodge Chargers are a common stolen vehicle. Except, the press release doesn't say it came back stolen. It says it came back with a registration error. Which, unless there's a plate on a Arizona car which matches this Arkansas one AND it's stolen, just means it came up as a non-existent plate. They didn't have a reason to think it was a stolen car: they just assumed it because the registration didn't clear.
What do you mean "without justification"??? They were black people with a nice car! That's not gonna fly in Texas without the cops challenging it at gunpoint! 😜
To all cops: As long as you fear integrity and accountability, you are NOT the good guys! End qualified immunity! Make each officer personally liable! Take settlements from the police union pension fund! You want your respect back? THEN EARN OUR TRUST BACK! It's BS like this that proves why NONE of you deserve ANYTHING!
You would think that Benjamin crump and others would tell the biden administration if you wanted a 2nd term in office at this rate then start having the DOJ hand out felony charges on these Brady list cops like it was Pez candy otherwise we are not voting for you at all a 2nd time !
@@theotheleo6830 Is that supposed to excuse the guns put in the faces of this innocent family? "Whoops, my bad. Sorry your family has now lost all trust and faith in law enforcement." Let me guess, it was really the families fault for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and driving that type of car, right?
@@michaelccopelandsr7120 I'll not deny that some people react differently when a gun is pointed at them. For the family in the video, it was very traumatic. But for others, not so much. I personally have had guns pointed at me by cops on a couple of occasions, and I suffer no ill effects. But do you seriously expect cops to stop making human errors when they put on that uniform? If you do, then you've got a hell of a reality check coming your way.
If the officers are truly sorry; they would resign in disgrace and forfeit their savings and pension to the family they wronged. But the union will defend them and probably harass the family to ensure no lawsuits are brought forward.
Why was the tag run in the first place? Without a probable cause, the tag should never have been run. If it was an automated tag reader, this event would never have happened. But it was a black man in a blacked-out Dodge Charger who drew the attention of a Frisco police officer. Why? Regardless of the complexion of the cop that called that tag in, we all know what triggered the start of this event on July 23rd alongside that roadway.
I'm volunteering with a high school band. So far, they've had a total of 18 hours training to learn how to march, which is probably more than what these cops got for traffic stops.
The generational effects of this agressive behavior has doesn't just effect this child. Millions will watch this or hear about this. The one hope here is this department admitted wrong doing, and the chief made a public apology. This is so rare i cant help but believe there is hope for this department.
@@rayglover8330I agree. I'm glad they apologized but really... this is poor training... and pitiful hiring practices that led to such bafoonery. Can you imagine being on the receiving end of such horse$#@!? Talk about PTSD...
I’d say the cop targeted the car because it’s a favorite of street racers and common criminals. She failed to verify the state abbreviation and the read back spiked her adrenaline and she rode the high. This is the second case of mistaken identity because a cop typed incorrect information into the computer system. I guess tags need the state abbreviations on them, or information sheets created for those officers who do not know them.
Reading the department's press release, they describe it as a "registration error." On the body cam, the copsplainer claims it came back stolen, but I am thinking that's a lie to mitigate the error. They ran this high-risk traffic stop, replete with deadly force wielded against the occupants, because the system didn't verify an erroneously entered license plate.
she of verified the information before conducting a high risk stop, people die because of their bs mistakes. no excuse, hope they get paid well from a lawsuit.
usually when cops say a car is possibly stolen, it's because of situations like this. sometimes plate readers glitch out and will flag a car as stolen when its not, or cops haven't confirmed if the car they're stopping is the stolen vehicle for different reasons. this is why some departments don't let officers stop "possible stolen vehicles" but let them tail the vehicle until they commit a traffic violation, legally letting them initiate a stop and conducting an investigation without having to risk pulling over a vehicle that isn't stolen and having to deal w what we see in this video
This AIN'T GOUNG TO CHANGE, UNLESS COPS INVOLVED ARE PENALIZED, financially, terminated with some sort of financial liability if the victim sues the PD, or even jail time just like when a civilian goes to jail for actions (pointing gun) like these.
This news report is perfect example why don't people like main stream media. Your reporting wrong. Do your homework and report the truth. The car was not reported stolen. The in correct tag was not reported stolen. There was no report of anything stolen. The error caused a no return on the tag because there was no history of a tag with the error. The chief and the department lied to justify the felony stop. The proper procedure for no return is to run the plate again and fallow the vehicle until they commit a traffic offense. No returns on vehicles happen all the time.
I'm sorry, I know every human being makes mistakes, but when your duties regularly involve life or death situations as well as someone's freedom you need to be held to a higher standard. Since no one was hurt the only thing I'd like to see is the officer who made the error be removed from his current role and be given less responsibility. What if one of these people had an illness that caused them to accidentally behave in a manner that gets them killed? Not acceptable. Just like the stories you hear about the cops raiding the wrong house. Just because you admit your mistake does not mean there should be no consequences.
@@BlueLineDefenderI don't care who, why, or how the mistake was made. The point is, if you make mistakes like this in any other job, it won't be tolerated, what if one of those people moved in a way that the police didn't like. It is lights out for whoever did, would it matter then, or are you still gonna defend the line?
@@mikeaskme3530 most jobs have extremely low accountability, especially in the medical field, so nah it would probably be tolerated in other professions. n im js sayin that everything that happened here is pretty much the primary officers fault, the rest of the officers were there to assist with a felony traffic stop. this is normal procedure during felony traffic stops
@@mikeaskme3530 im not a dumbass like you, i got documentation & reports of numerous professions doin shit that, if anybody paid any attention, would have raised outrage. like i said, especially in the medical field. the amount of medical malpractice that happens almost yearly is wild. yearly, up to 1,500,000 people suffer from non-fatal injuries due to medical errors and malpractice 12,000 people die from incompetent surgeons (im not talking bout surgeons who tried and the patient died regardless, im talking about surgeons who had the ability to preserve a life but took steps that prevented such) and 100,000+ people die due to other medical complications, a lot of those being medical malpractice numbers are probably much larger, since only 1 out of 50 victims of medical malpractice actually speak out and pursue a claim. but lets talk about the cops who made an honest mistake and immediately tried righting their wrongs.

Piss poor hiring. Piss poor training. Piss poor results. This is horrific. What in the $#@! is wrong with our freaking country and abysmal law enforcement practices. Not all leos...of course...but goodness! Freaking screaming... (s) drawn. Everything seems like a high octane war zone melo drama. I feel for the family. Our country is experiencing systemic civic meltdowns from coast to coast.
The running joke in the Army is that infantry have only high school diplomas or GEDs (depending on which regiment is doing the joke). You know where I'm going with this
I just watched the entire thing on the Frisco police and had tears and was shaking. I can’t even imagine. If they made one wrong move they could have been shot. As a person that was in the military and medical profession it’s drilled into your head to “pay attention to detail”. Even having a nuclear engineer father taught me this. Even the finest mistakes have consequences. Thankfully this family is fine physically. Frisco police needs to compensate this family for their negligence.
Someone needs remedial training. This is an “R”. This is a “Z”. Can you see the difference? By not seeing the difference, we could possibly had 4 dead occupants of a car. There has got to be “0” tolerance for mistakes when you are dealing in life and death situations that you as an officer created! “Sorry, we made a mistake” is not acceptable. There was no crime until you, ma’am, created it. There is no “we” here, just a bunch of sheep just following the other sheep. Before any gun was drawn, who double checked the information? Children should never be subjected to this kind of behavior!
The look on the female cop's face seem to indicate difficulty processing the level of impact her mistake had on an innocent family...That could lead people to believe this bustling metropolis made a mistake when they hired her. But to be fair,, Texas law enforcement has always been a target-rich environment for vivid youtube video...
This is the most traumatizing moment in a man's live, when I heard the nephew was yelling uncle we are about to die. That hit home. This woman should be fired.

ROBBIE TOLAN COULD BE PLAYING PRO BASEBALL BUT HE IS A BLACK MALE LIVING IN BELLAIRE. COPS FOLLOWED HIM HOME, AFTER TYPING IN THE LICENSE NUMBER IN WRONG HIS MOTHER ASSAULTED AFTER SAYING THIS IS MY HOUSE, THATS MY SON AND MY CAR...
The training is the problem to begin with new recruits are being taught to purposely Miss type your license plate coming back as a different vehicle giving them a reason to pull you over
This goes to the quality of police officers we're getting today. What we're getting is GIGO (garbage in garbage out) from the the training academy. They're missing the mark on all levels, and the real criminals are winning.
So, Every Charger leaving a hotel is high- risk. She needs retraining & sue. Just for targeting the charger, cops hate those cars. My heart goes out for this family having experience this non sense because of a cops error. Thank God, there was no trigger happy cop on scene.
They deserve an apology from the chief of police. If it is Commissioner Reagan, he would have visited and consult the family. With all the wrong shootings by the police involving the black, no wonder the black family was traumatised.
The cops apologized and that’s where it ends. Ok, people make mistakes but with qualified immunity nothing will happen to the cops and mistakes become common place. It becomes racist when it’s black people and the cops assumes to be high risk and more “dangerous” requiring guns to be drawn. If the police were not racist the cop would have been suspended or reprimanded in some way, but instead nothing happened. All the police had to do was recheck the plate immediately, not after the pull their guns. The cops just don’t care and the potential for death in a situation like that is super high because let’s be honest these aren’t the most professional cops in the world. More like the most incompetent
They sound so condescending like it was no big deal. They pointed a gun at their children and handcuffed them. When you've got several police officers going through the motions of apologizing (because the looks on their faces say they couldn't care less), then you know, that they know, they messed up big time. They need to sue because those kids are going to need therapy and it's not cheap.
An apology doesn't cut it. This family came within a proverbial inch of being shot and killed, and their lives have been altered. I hope this family can sue them for all that the law allows, though in Texas that may be slim to none. Retraining cops without accountability is b.s. and THIS is why qualified immunity must be abolished.
So how will the chief learn from it? The woman who couldn't type properly should be immediately taken off duty. The department should also proactively compensate the family. Anything else is not learning.
That police officer is an absolute clown!!!!!! She doesn’t know the difference between Arizona and Arkansas!!!! That officer should be immediately fired and banned from Law Enforcement forever!!!!
That's some bs Arkansas is right next to Texas and Arkansas folks traveled to texas every day just like texas folks travel through Arkansas so how tf you get Arkansas mixed up with Arizona when the dam tags say Arkansas.
Thats exactly what i said when i heard what happened. I too live in AR and know damn well DFW officers encounter arkansas tags on a daily. Hell I-30 only runs between Little Rock and Fort Worth and people make that commute in both directions constantly.
Thank you for meeting the mistake saying I'm sorry that means a lot even though it was scary it's terrifying everybody know you're doing your job and sometimes your job is so scary you're terrifying just on its own So thank you for apologizing and thank you even more for doing your job for checking the rest of us
The qualifications to become a police officer are too low. In my home state of Georgia. The initial qualifications are the same that it takes to work at Wal Mart.
Honestly, I'm surprised they apologize. Ten years ago they would have said that they investigated themselves and concluded that they did nothing wrong. Greetings.
When they see they’ve pulled over a family, why does it not get into their skulls that maybe what the family is saying just MIGHT be right, that just MAYBE they’ve made a mistake? That MAYBE COMING WITH GUNS DRAWN AND HANDCUFFING PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT POSING A THREAT IS STUPID???
It would NOT be the first time a NON-white officer was profiling. Why did the plate get searched anyway? Was there a moving violation or did the officer just run the plate on a out of state vehicle?
Why was the plate run in the first place? What crime or traffic infraction was committed that caused the police to run the license plate, or was it racial profiling?
what kind of police training makes cops so afraid of children that they hand cuff them ? should have used the training money to have officers vision checked and bought her a pair of glasses !
