His band is made with the famous producer Dave Cobb on guitar, Derrick Nixon on the drums, J.T. Cure on bass, Robby Turner on pedal steel, Mickey Rafael on harmonica (Willie Nelson's harmonica player for over 45 years) And ofcourse Morgan Stapleton singing backup (Chris's wife)❤ So looking forward for you to go down the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole! Remember- always live performances with Chris... next "COLD" LIVE AT CMA AWARDS
Thank you for info on the band! I know there's at least two CMA performances I wan to do and Cold is one of them. Much more Chris coming round the bend!❤️
@BemusingBill great reaction! Just sub’d. Please react to his performance “White Horse”CMA 2023” Live! Also his performance at “2021 CMA Awards “Cold”. He is sooo good LIVE! He lets it loose live. He won a ton or awards for it, Grammys, CMA’s etc!! He’s a living Legend!
Thank you for the sub, my friend! I really appreciate that. This is an artist that deserves the awards. Love his voice and his vibe. I'll do that White Horse, I just hope CMA doesn't block me from posting it. Much more from Chris on it's way!
I am thrilled that your reacted to Chris Stapleton! His backup singer is his wife, Morgane. They have five children. I, too, love all types of music. You should check out Chris' Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl last year. Chris is best in live performances.
Chris is one of the few modern country artists that I enjoy. He's one of those "sing the phonebook" people for sure. His harmonies with his wife Morgan are near perfection. You should check out the song "Say Something" that he did with Justin Timberlake. The one-take video was really cool! ❤ (one *shot* video)
So that was his wife? I had a feeling but didn't want to sound foolish (I do enough of that so why add to the pile). I think I will check that out. I like Timberlake especially after seeing him on SNL! Thank you, Velouria! ❤️
Here for it! When it comes to Stapleton, always go with live versions when possible. You won't be disappointed. Thank you! P.s. as a metal head, i think ud enjoy Chris's cover of "Nothing Else Matters" (Metallica). Althou i haven't found a live version of this, the album version is great) ❤️🔥
Chris was a very highly successful songwriter in Nashville before he was persuaded by his wife, Morgane (pron. Morgan), to go solo. It's ironic that this song, a cover, became his signature song. Morgane is also his backup singer. In the band are JT Cure on bass & Derek Mixon on drums. Both have been with Chris for a couple decades. If you get into Chris's music, you'll hear blues. rock, soul, gospel, Bluegrass & straight-up country. "Sometimes I Cry" & "Barely Alive" Live at The Bing Lounge "I Was Wrong" at Austen City Limits "Cold" & "White Horse" at the CMAs "Whiskey & You" on the Charlie Rose Show "Parachute" on SNL "Tied To The Whipping Post" Allman Brothers cover "If It Hadn't Been For Love", "Midnight Train To Memphis" & Blue Side of the Mountain with The Steeldrivers - band he sang with before he soloed. "Higher" - "You Should Probably Leave - "Death Row" (studio) - "What Are You Listening To" - "Fool Me Again" - "Starting Over"
I've heard Tennessee Whiskey covers before.. I've even heard the original by David Allen Coe, but Chris Stapletons cover is the best Tennesse Whiskey cover I have ever heard, his voice is phenomenal.
Chris Stapleton has a very large catalog of music. Try his songs Sometimes I Cry (live from Bing Lounge), Either Way (live on Charlie Rose Show), I Was Wrong (live from Austin City Limits). That's a good start.
Hey new sub here! check out his wife singing and Chris backing her up! They slay You are my sunshine! It’s 🔥 also his new song Higher! His vocals are other worldly
Loved your reaction! New subscriber. A few suggestions I would have for Chris Stapleton are: -as someone else mentioned “what are you listening to?” Live -“either way” live at Charlie Rose -The national anthem at last year‘s ‘23 Super Bowl -“ I was wrong” live Austin city limits -“ starting over” official music video -“ I hope you dance” live Saint Jude Telethon (his wife Morgane’s back up vocals in that) -“fire away” official video -“ barely alive” live -“hold on” live at the CMA’s with H.E.R. And Chris Stapleton. -“ farther along” with leslie Jordan featuring Chris and Morgane Stapleton (official video) - These are some of my favorites, but there are so so many good ones. Other people also suggest “ sometimes I cry” live, and “cold” live. Someone else mentioned the woman on stage with him is his wife Morgane. She’s incredibly talented. They are both songwriters and met when they were both working at the same place writing songs. they’ve been married for quite a long time and have five kids together. Ha ha, sorry for the long message and long list, but these are some of my favorites and thought you might enjoy.
I quit listening to country at the beginning of the 2000's, when big music and formula songs took over. But, this guy isn't any formula singer. Love, love the grit in his voice. He's fairly new to me, so the only suggestion I have is --- play more!
Great reaction.. that's he's wife.. always react to live performances so much better than studio..try cold live at the cma awards it's breathtaking.. this guy is a generational talent.
This is such a great version of this song. Voiceplay did a cover of Tennessee Whiskey that is something of an homage to Chris's version but has almost a more R&B feel to me. I hope you will add that to your list to check out as well!
His wife, Morgane is singing with him in this one. She's great on her own. They also did a rendition of, "You Are My Sunshine" with Morgane. She's awesome! Thank you!
Great reaction Uncle Bill 😊 Chris performed his song “Cold” at the Country Music awards it’s one of my favorites. I saw someone commented on Toby Keith who recently passed away from cancer at 62. I just wanted to suggest a few since he didn’t mention anything specific. “Curtesy of the red white and Blue “ or “American Soldier “are great patriotic songs. 😊
Most important thing with Chris is live performance is best. A great rock type song of his you should check out is "Devil Always Made Me Think Twice" -(live@ Late Show w/Stephen Colbert).
Lovin' me some chris. If you like bluesy, you should check out Melissa etheridge and I'm the only one. She's fantastic. And the song is amazing. Great show.
Love this song. George Jones did it also and I think he wrote it. Chris is a great song writer also. Check out anything live from him. He is a real talent.
Hello, I have two recommendations for Chris Stapleton. My zen songs. Death Row, no video just audio. Either way on Charlie Rose. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.😊
