►About the Game -
Most of the time you have to walk and explore the abandoned apartment of your deceased grandfather, to which you came for an old family album, but strange things begin to happen in the apartment, the one who lives in darkness will not let you go so easily. Your main task is to get out alive, but this can only be done by meeting face to face with an inhabitant of darkness.
The game takes about an hour.

This horror developer has real talent for developing scary games. He also did a fantastic job of creating this horror game within such a small encolsed environment, enclosed for the most part.

The typical-old-post-soviet-flat look is ... amazingly realistic. Good old carpet on the wall, furniture, kitchenware ... :D It's almost frustrating how familiar this look is ahahah

Personally, I laughed at 08:12 - seeing "Gold Star" and "Belomorkanal". Not sure a lot of people from other countries can understand what lies there, especially cigarettes. Really, dev left there a health items and CJU simply... stares at them, then turns away)

I mean I'm really impressed by these games, he's really developing a solid technique. I like how the jump-scare at the start is not actually indicative of how the rest of the scares will play out, but is a mood setter which unnerves you early, so from that point you're tense and expecting jump-scares while the game proceeds to mess with you in more creative ways.

This really spooked me. The timing/pacing was honestly perfect with the scares and putting it inside an apartment that small meant you had to be on your toes with cues/changes. Really, REALLY enjoyed this. I hope the dev continues making games with the tall man character. He's so unsettling!

It's such a bummer rewatching this now. This video, this version of the game? Awesome! I loved it but, I watched John Wolfe play through this and it was either a belated April Fool's Day version, or a gag version or...more likely than not an unfortunate update. They made it so that gangly bastard's appearance changed over time as you played. Sounds cool, right? Yeah, it could've been if not for the fact he ended up looking like a googly eyed murder muppet. They did change quite a few things as well, I think they made some scares a lot less subtle (and subsequently a lot less scary) but his downright silly appearance stuck out the most for me. This dev has such potential, I'm hoping their future games look more like this than that goofy update.

Well, that was disquieting. 😬 😅 🤣 CJU searching the kitchen, "Didn't I see an ear casserole, or something like that, in here?" Us: "Yes. Yes you did." And, "Who wants to take a ride on the viscera elevator?! " Thanks for playing this creepy, claustrophobic game, Chris. I wish it hadn't ended so abruptly without any real explanation.

This whole game was a vibe! I'm always so unnerved by quiet, claustrophobia-inducing environments-even more so than actual jumpscares. Amazing playthrough, as usual!

12:30 --- LMAO! After watching something horrifying, simply close the door and calmly walk away. Kudos to the developer for creating such a dreary and closed-in environment. The knowledge of something or someone being with you while in an enclosed space + the erratic functioning of the lights was done in good measure for the tension build-up.

I laugh out of nervousness when I’m uncomfortable playing a scary game, or watching a creepy film. It kind of takes me out of it for a second and provides some (very) temporary relief. I sometimes sing to myself too lol. Fear can bring interesting responses out of people that seem out of place I suppose

Jump scare time stamps for anyone who needs them (adding them as I go) Might miss some but- First one: 7:26 Mild startle (someone runs away when you turn around) 10:16 Sudden phone call (things start to go wrong) 10:50 18:36 not a jump scare but you get a flashlight and after that there are creepy sounds every time the lights turn off Monster appears but is gone 26:45 Loud noise 29:25 Loud knocking 40:53

I like the idea of building a horror series around a particular location. Probably got Silent Hill to thank for that. So seeing more of this building's dark secrets explored is really cool. That being said, I hope the dev transitions away from jumpscares and doesn't get too comfortable with only using the illusion of a real threat to frighten players. But as always with this playthrough, fantastic work and commentary. It's great that you take your time and hesitate before some decisions to really let things sink in. Nice new intro too, very smooth and unobtrusive.

At about 36:25, when you use the macabresque "elevator," don't you agree it's highly like, or at least reminiscent of, the late-story portion of "Silent Hill 4: The Room," where you finally get outside of the apartment you've been trapped in...to discover and see...a sight not all that unlike this one? ... Don't you think? 😉 ... And that big, toothy bearface at 41:35! It 's like *Mega* Five Nights At Freddy's!

the layout really reminds me of that other game where you're in a Russian apartment building with a large foyer and a funky lift, and in the apartment you have to do some crawling through the balcony and you exit into a room with a tv just like in this game.

I did said I like watching gameplays of my fave RU-vidrs even when I'm eating lunch & dinner. Just now I spilled some of my coffee because I got shocked at the jumpscare @7:25 and my family stare at me, confused what happened so I said "I just got shocked (on the jumpscare)" 😂

Whoever made this, they know. They know how socialism feels like. I thought i was desensitized to stuff, but i was wrong. Imagine something like this with a proper storyline, voice actors, stretched out Scratches-style and with Brian Eno doing the music. I think a lot of great games strike the perfect balance between these elements by luck rather than by design, but a horror game needs to be scarier than my life, at least, and a lot of them fail at that.

The dev has phenomenal control of ambience and tension in the first 1/3 and reminded me of the movie Lights out. There were many subtle changes that were great throughout the apartment sequence but it starts to wear off near the middle, juxtaposed with 'cheap' parts, choices or sequences of predictable nothing. I wonder why jpeg jumpscares commonly seen in bad indies were used in both games. They work as a shock factor but break suspension of disbelief. Illogical things can be believable, those aren't. The second half felt repetitive and bland, similar to wandering sequences in many other games. Was it padding or intentional? The dev is like an unrefined gem and i'm glad to see more of their creation.

I didn't find wrong floor scary, it was still good though. This one is so freaking scary!!! The heavy breathing in the dark room.... 😨😱 The graphics look so good too. There's clearly been a lot of thought put into it. I love it.

Also I have to agree with most commenters: that basic first dollscare came so unexcpected, I literally jumped back in my chair and was ready for the karate as well xD so awesome to see ur similar move @CJU. Havent been here much, but I still feel like back in the days (I think it was ur 3rd upload...): I am bumped u dont do facecam... it is silly of me, but I just need me some fc to rly enjoy a letsplay. dang mate. once in a while i can make an exception cuz I love ur voice and adore seeing at least the highlights. and finally: i am bloody excited that johnwolfe actually mentions u quite frequently. so awesome xD all in all i hope u are doing well and all the best =*

Nice game! That early jumpscare with the doll's face seemed pretty cheap compared to the more sophisticated scares that this game was able to pull off -- looking forward to more from this dev -- perhaps a series of games/stories set in this apartment bloc? Great playthrough!

Loved it, and yet again, I don't know how you play games that are this scary, but kudos to you, and many thanks! (Otherwise I might not get to experience these kinds of games!) This one was like 7At Dead of Night7, in that there were genuine moments where I had to block my eyes, it was so intense. Especially after the doll jumpscare - that was so well-placed and terrifying because of how unexpected it was. Those EYES in the jumpscare... O.O
