My opinion - the investors and bean counters didn't stick with their bread & butter .357Magnum Classic & Compact models. They expanded into developing the MOT-45 .45ACP & MOT-10 10mm, which overextended them financially and fairly quickly led to their demise. Dan Coonan has hinted at restarting his business, under his terms, as Coonan USA. All us Coonan fans are patiently hopeful.
Excelent video sir! The best one one this gun. Thank you for your work! This gun is my dream gun, but as a brazilian it would be too hard to buy it and way too expensive too. For now, I bought a taurus 357, 7 shots.
Its really nice to hear someone that actually knows a lot about guns! When you talk about this gun, it makes it clear you know your stuff! Remarkable job! Thanks
Its expensive nowadays but very worth it. I've want to own one; I've only fired one. I had my chances back in the day (earily 90s) but passed on it. I bought a dan wesson .357 maximum instead; I don't regret it for I love the .357 maximum but will always rue the day I could of had one for less than 500 dollars; now its close to 2000. Still want one.
Very interesting pistol! Does anybody knows if parts are interchangeable with any other guns ? A fellow gun enthousiast of mine is looking for an extractor. But parts are like impossible to find!
Wess Wess Call Dan Coonan. He is easy to deal with. If he doesn’t have it, he will probably know who will. If nothing else, he should have the drawings that could be used to make the extractor. Best of luck
I have an identical Coonan, except of course for the serial number, mine is a bit higher, but the barrel with the swinging ring is identical. Can anyone tell me which model it is? Model A or Model B? Thank you
In the early 1990's inhad a gun shop in a small town and acquired two of the "b" models, one for me and the other for sale. My hands are not large so the grip was not comfortable for me and I ended up selling both of them, still it was different and fun too.
My friends are always ragging on me for carrying a revolver. Since I don't want to have to track which ammunition I'm carrying, I'm looking at getting a Coonan pistol.
Not really. Rimmed cartridges have been fed in box magazines long before the Coonan was around. The Bren LMG is one example. .303 British is a rimmed round
Yep. Dan Coonan actually bought the company back a couple years ago. Had a chance to talk to him fir a few minutes last year, SUPER NICE GUY. Great guns, shot the 10mm also nice gun
