Batting maestro Rahul Dravid compiled a phenomenal 233 to set up an historic victory for India in the second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval in 2003
I used to hate him when i was a kid because of his low strike rate. But when i start understanding cricket then he became my all time favorite cricketer. Not just because of the consistency, but the way he put prize on his wicket. Hatts off to this honest servant of world cricket.
Absolutely correct..so beautiful to watch again and again..still remember this match ,watch his innings by bunk my school class and what a classic shot by Mr Dependable The wall....
Underrated player for India, underrated batsman for India, an underrated coach for India. Trust me we don’t give him enough credit for his contribution to Indian cricket
@@rishabh4539 Yes. Of course, Rahul Dravid is a legend. But, you can't deny the fact that Pujara is also a great 'test' batsman in today's generation. Undoubtedly, Indian team got a good alternative of Dravid in the form of Pujara.
Josh Hazlewood - There is an idiot named Sourabh Debnath (in Streaker Streaks comments) who wants to prove you wrong. That idiot says Dravid not even 10 percent as good as Sachin. Now, even GOD can't save him.
Josh Hazelwood ,,I pity your ignorance ,many people in India itself have grudge on DRAVID for that declaration in Pakistan, even though the Test was won ,,,,,even the player did not stop critics of DRAVID?!!!!!!!!!! how cruel is world to the WALL!!!!!😪😔a selfless ,ready to do anything for team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😱😥😥😥😥😱😱😱😱
Every batsman has a dream to score Centuries against Aussies and England then there is this man who scored double centuries against them that too in their soil❤️❤️... Rahul Dravid The Legend ❤️🙌🏻
He also scored a 270 against prime Pakistani team in Rawalpindi in their soil. The place from where Aktar got his name as Rawalpindi express, Rahul Dravid scores the highest individual score..! Pure Test Nightmare...
I loved that comment when the commentator spoke. That's pretty much Dravid. Everytime Indian team struggles in Test match, He'll be there standing, giving those penetrating stare to the bowlers..
That is right, if think about it , it would have given him for balls to get set and with his traditional strokes he would have got risk free runs but unfortunately both him and sachin were right handed so ganguly was preferred. I think if he had played as opener india would have lot more 50 - 100 run partnerships for first wickets. I would have been great to have sachin and dravid as opener where sachin with more risky strokes making runs quickly and dravid holding one end up with decent strike rate.
That's not true . For opening u need different style of batting . It is more like jayasuriya , sehwag, Gilchrist, Trescothik like style where u need better eye hand coordination instead of feet movement . Sachin was at different level , he could bat anywhere till 6th position.
@@vik24oct1991 dravid has played 21 0di as opener .and scored at the strike rate 66 and the average of 38 in odi .so clearly dravid has performed below average with the strike rate of 66 as opener .and played 1 20 odi as one down batsman in odi scored at the average of 39 with the strike rate of 68 in odi .so what he has achieved in odi as top order batsman .his record as a top order clearly shows he doesn't suits as odi batsman specially in the top order
@@siddhartha9834 even those days you need at least the strike rate of 74 or 75 can be called decent. If you scored at the strike rate of 66 .than team total will be 198 .which is obviously a low total .and not proved enough by any means .even those days dravid is criticed by experts .specially the strike rate of 66 as a opener is not acceptable by any means specially as a opener
"Try taking Dravids wicket within the first 15Minuits , if you can't try taking others "- Steve Vaugh Australian capitain. this statement of Steve vaugh on Rahul Dravid epitomises this inning
mind it well bro. this is the only century made by dravid in Australia against Australia. that too ther was no McGrath, Bretlee and no Shane warn. if you exclude this drvd average is just 29 against Australia and in india still worst. what class you are talking bro?? he is hving not a single ODI century against Australia in his entire career. drvd test avrage is just 33, 29, 39 against SL, SA, AUS respectively. since these were the teams, their bowling attack and feilding was top class in the world those days. even drvd is hving not a single ODI century against Australia, England and South Africa. if drvd is such a class master teqnique, why failed against toughest teams?? sorry bro. goodluck.
@@rahul9586 just refer the figures, statistics of chutya dravid which i mentioned. its bitter but fact bro. dont be personal, emotional, sentimental. drvd is a hopeless and lowest match winner among all leading players. dhoni ne gaand pe lath maarke 2007 me nikaal diya, forever, that too halp of drvd career. this is also real history. bro, you all blind fans overrated him a lot. i never say this, his statistics, history, records sounds like that. see his stats before make a blind coment. anyways, sorry bro. goodluck.
@@rahul9586 bro. this match he scored 233 and 72 that, no key bowlers of Australia. if you exclude this, drvd average in test against Australia is just 29. and worst in India against AUS. similarly only test century in SA in SA. If you exclude again his test avrage is just 18 in SA against SA. and srilank its just 23. kindly refer these figures, if its fake. now tell me bro, is 29 18, 23 avrage against toughest teams in the world, how can you call him " perfect test batsman"???? 1or 2 or 3 performance cant make batsman perfect batsman. sorry bro, goodluck.
still can't believe that it was 17 years back when i was in class 10th & i had watched this innings live back then & was enjoying this moment & after watching i always felt like watching our wall's every classical shot that had went for the boundaries man.
If Sachin Tendulkar is God of Cricket , Then Rahul Dravid is Soul of Cricket. A great player who did his job very silently, selflessly and always hide in the shadow of Sachin Tendulkar. Whenever we talk about Cricket We will talk about Rahul Dravid.
@rajat bansal Thanks bro It's true Rahul is equal to Sachin Tendulkar but he always hide in the shadow of Sachin Tendulkar. How many have came but nobody can take away the legacy of Rahul Dravid. His class, skills, footwork, approach to bowl, temperament , reflexec to defend bowl , art to defend bowl all are inspiring . Every shots of Rahul Dravid needs a photo frame . His contribution to the upliftment of Indian Cricket is remarkable and precious and it can't be denied .
Bkj there was no McGrath, Warn or even Bretlee my friend. Otherwise drvd's mango would be spoiled totally my friend. Bkj drvd is having only this and this century against Australia in Australia. And not a single odi century in his entire career. Just refer it my friend.

Sachin was also equally good his overseas average is more than his overall average specially in australia sachin was the best and in england may be dravid was the best but both were Kings of overseas
3:09 just look at that shot... Wow amazing how beautifully he played that shot.... Pure masterclass from the wall...which cannot be seen today's so called batsman...We are the fan of pure masterclass.. Great knock by Dravid..👍🏻👍🏻💪
2:01 proves why Dravid is miles ahead of Pujara... As an International player you must know how to play pull and hook shots instead of defence by body and increase chances of injury.... By the way both are legend❤️❤️... salute to the great wall
Lol......playing on the 5th day at Gabba is challenging......it has uneven bounce There is a big difference between the pitches of Adelaide, MCG & Gabba, Waca
Some of VVS Laxman’s, Sachin’s, Ganguly’s spectacular innings were built with Dravid playing supportive role, but this one is one and only Rahul Dravid. Silky touches, authoritative drives...even birds were enjoying them.
Why India is busy in Sachin and Virat and has lost such a beautiful gem he has such a classy shot and I haven't seen more beautiful shots played by any other cricketer man he is so underrated he deserve so much much respect than any other batsman it was just his bad that he was born was playing in the era of other legends but man you cannot forget this gem this is really true master piece short I have ever seen this is the first sorry second video of Dravid I am seeing and I am absolute fan of David now
A small letter to all those who feel Rahul Dravid is nothing in front of Sachin Tendulkar (Now don't start saying I'm a Sachin hater, I love both Sachin and Dravid equally, both are legends in their own ways of play). First thing - Sachin and Dravid are both Gods in their own techniques. If there was no Sachin, there was no Sharjah, no epic 2003 World Cup sixes off Shoaib Akhtar and Andy Caddick, no 1990s singlehanded wins for India. Agreed. But what if DRAVID wasn't there??? India would have miserably lost 2003 Test series in Australia including the Adelaide test win. India would've been nowhere in Tests because of massive vacuum in batting lineup (as Sachin, Ganguly and Laxman were not so determined to spend time at the crease like 'The Wall'.) And how can you forget??? If there was no Dravid - Who would have saved the famous Kolkata test 2001 alongside Laxman? Sachin? Ganguly?? No way. We would have definitely lost it maybe even by innings. How can you disregard the finest batting performance by Dravid alongside Sachin and Ganguly to build the biggest partnership in ODIs? There is an endless list of both Sachin and Dravid achievements. When it comes to flawless slaughter and smashing, Sachin is GOD. But when it's about playing strictly as per the team requirements and devoting everything to that one batsman's wicket, only 'The Wall' Dravid is GOD. Who, do you think, would have been the saviour in the worst batting conditions in West Indies (2005-06) where none were even able to face the bowlers? And what about NZ Tests in 1999? And in England in 2011, when Indian selectors were literally begging Rahul Dravid to save from shameful innings defeat, not just in Tests but also in ODIs??? As I said, there are endless such situations. Better thing would be that you should read enough about stupendous performances of Rahul Dravid when no one in the team could stand. That'll make you realise the true potential of 'The Wall'. Glenn McGrath once said - If anyone was to get a direct entry into the famous Australian team of the late '90s, he will be (undoubtedly) 'The Wall' Rahul Dravid. Reading hateful comments about Dravid, McGrath will be saying - Do I sound a fool to you??? So, all such people, read this and more of Dravid's impossible feats, face yourself in the mirror and introspect such comments. Hope you'll understand this truth soon. In short, it is D - Determination and Unparalleled Team Devotion R - Rock-solid resilience A - Altruism V - Vigilance I - Improvisation ingrained in D - Dravid 'The Wall'
@@anandk9220 aur dravid kidhar bhi nahi hai aus ki famous matches woh bowler ke wajah se jeete hai aise sachin ke knock hai jisme bowler ne help nahi kiyi hai aur tere alag channel pe comment padhe hai mene

This RU-vid channel is literally gold. Thank you cricket australia for recordings of all these great innings. Also not holding back praise where credit is due and the production quality is just amazing!
Wall of cricket 💖 Made me cry 💔 Man who put his team over him 😇 Perk of being Thalaivar Dravid's fan💙 His strokes, grace while playing the shot cannot be replaced 😘 Even his defensive strokes are pleasing to eyes 😍 Miss him badly LiveLongWall ❤ Greatest #WallForever🙏🙏
Those were the days, good old memories, Dravid, Ganguly, Sachin, Sehwaag, laxman, kumble, harbhajan, zaheer khan, names so familiar that feels like family, Thanks all for making our childhood so memorable.
Real gem of an innings. Watched this video for more than 10 times. Never felt bored. I saw this match live in television bunking office. Huge fan of RD.
I am a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar's batting. But I have to admit that Rahul Dravid is better test player then Sachin & a true sportsman. Respect you sir. Respect a lot.
Has to be among the best knocks in Test cricket. Opposition (World Champions, playing in their den) bats first, scores 566. Your team is 75 for 4, you play this and your team wins. VVS Mention: Laxman Included.
The Best Batsman on that ERA. He is the Institution of Batting. I still Remember i woke up early in the moring to watch this innings 233. The Wall of Indian Cricket.
Patience=Rahul dravid.... The thing that is special about Rahul Dravid is that he waits for the bowler to lose his patience and make a mistake. Pure elegance and class in his game.He can bat all day long with the ease with which he begins the morning session. Above all, his humility makes people respect him even more. His batting records may be broken but this man is simply irreplaceable .
After 10k runs dhoni kicked on drvd's gaand and remove drvd 2007 forever and finished drvd's odi career that too halp of drvd career, thooooooo. Drvd is useless player, proved by dhoni. Great dhoni and chutya drvd saala
One of the greatest innings in the history of Indian cricket....!!!! Fortunate enough to watch it on tv live...!! Breathtaking knock...! Dravid at his imperious best....!!!
Memories of this series: 1.Dada's memorable fightback with 144 in Brisbane. 2. The Wall standing tall at Adelaide with 233 ably supported by VVS. 3. Sehwag's masterful 195 MCG Boxing day epic. 4. The God himself notching up a gritty 241* at Sydney with Jumbo picking up 12 in the match. The series was riddled with so much drama and highlights that it should be made into a goddamn 12 part miniseries.
@@daniyal72 Maybe or maybe not. Atleast I can exaggerate my team's performance with the correct use of there and their. Also, no points for guessing which team hasn't even drawn a test let alone winning one since 1999.
@@KarthikVijapurapu yup, when Ravi Shastri said that the current team is the best after their win in Aus, I seriously disagreed. This team had so many players with a match winning history. Even after 3 or 4 wickets had fallen we knew that we only needed one person either VVS or Dravid to stay on the crease to win the match. The hope was rarely lost. Alas, we never hyped them much because we did not have IPLs Internet and so many news channels to promote them. Our bowling department was a bit weak but our batting department made up for it. Dravid, VVS or Sachin, all those have the qualities to become the main batsman of any international team and all were playing for the same team.
@@rudrapratapsingh8770 I dont know when India's national game became what you just said, but sorry I dont play such games, big fan of Bapu, you know, Those games are reserved for you only, dear sir.
Sachin and dravid two legends... Asshole dhoni ruined every legends career... Gambhir zaheer Ganguly... Now same thing happened with dhobi.... Feeling so good... Aur dhoni fans Apni ma na chudaye reply karke... Overrated player dhoni ....career without a single overseas century... 😂😂
legend of the game is vvs laxman. Viru's attack at the top followed by dravid's patience followed by the greatest batsman, then backed by offside god ganguly and then the very great vvs. 5 legends in 1 team. Sad that this team didnot have bowling legends and australia was way too good that time. Still this team won matches outside asia. What a team!! Miss those days.
This is one of the Greatest Test Innings overseas, resulted in one of the Greatest test win for India. Cricket been never the same without Dravid, my Idol & favourite player of all time.
