On 28th August 1999 the RTM held its "Farewell 422" Tour to Medway and the south with 42219 accompanied by 4916 and later 44211 doing the honours. This video covers the trip from Burrawang to Exeter with a shot of its return from Medway climbing the Wingello Bank.
It also wraps up my mini-tribute to the 422 Class locomotive, one of my favourite class of locomotive.
Videos in the Along Closed Lines series were originally shot in 4 x 3 Standard Definition and have been upscaled to High Definition and reformatted to widescreen. They generally cover movements that can now no longer take place.
