Those rear pumpkin gaskets are surprisingly good quality. I bought a new one for changing mine and after taking it apart, the one from the factory looked almost brand new, so I just reused it! Also, no need to change the trans. fluid, the dealer changes that for you every 100k miles with the transmission😂😂😢

I need to do this to my 03 Blazer. I'm sure these get overlooked quite a bit. Thanks Mike!

Much much much better video. When discussing gear oil discuss GL 4 versus GL 5. You are a great resource

Really nice looking truck specially the front grill, a lot nicer than the honeycomb one.

One second the drain plug is out, then *BOOP*, it's in! Video Magic!

Wow - racking up the miles quick! Great overview of the process, hopefully the lack of fluid changes didn't cause any excess wear on it.

Nice video! For the rear axel, a magnet could have helped to removed some residual metal at the bottom, but good job! 👍

How would you rate your purchase of the GMC on a scale of 1 to 10.

Gotta get me one of those syringes for changing the gear oil in my '14 Wrangler. I'm sure it's never been done.

I'd always take out the fill plug first before the drain plug comes out.

lol @ some of these comments. This guy works on Lambo's and vintage Ferrari's, he doesn't need any tech tips from his audience of arm chair mechanics.

Shouldn't you use yellow oil-resistant Teflon tape for the threads?

I thought that Wizard would've had a suction pump that's connected to the air compressor that you could use to suck out all the diff fluid?

I'm from Boston, tranny went on our way to Florida in Savannah ga. Went to a shop called coastal transmissions.... they were great. 100k miles warranty. Even gave my and my family + the dog a ride to a hotel and picked us up 3 days later when my Tahoe was done.... that was 15yrs ago and that Tahoe is still running strong!
