First time I did a brake job was on my 74 chevelle. Was shaking like a leaf when I put it back on the road. But learned a lot from the experience. Really enjoy your videos Mike.
I did this the first time last year after watching a guy Chris Fix video on it and my rotor bolts were so damn tight I had a hard time busting them loose. But I was surprised how easy the actual job was. Not much harder than changing the oil. You just need to watch a video a few times to learn what you are doing and to have everything you need handy before you start. Especially if it’s your only car and you are far from an auto parts store and need something! Get everything you need and have it ready and accessible. Be careful when the cars up in the air. I fucked up and while I was pulling to try to break the bolt loose, the car slipped off the Jack and almost crushed my foot and I was able to shove the tire under the car to try to cushion it and after that, I’ll never try using just a jack. You need jack stands or something to hold the car up in case the jack fails. Like I did.
Nice Job Mike! Thanks for making all of the video content. There is something rare about your ability to teach and explain things and we appreciate it.
Uneven wear, from one side to the other, usually indicates a caliper hanging up on the worn out side. Also new stainless pad slide hardware are cheap and should be changed with new pads ..... but what do I know, I'm not a stone mason mechanic. 😁
