Having been a bit disappointed with the front braketech brakes on the Husky, I thought I would overhaul the caliper. I also replaced the pads.
I may have to do the master seals as there may be air getting in there over night somehow but after employing some of the tricks I read on the forums, they were running awesome for this ride. I also pushed the master to the left so that when I use them with one finger, it is near the end of the lever.
I've think I have the air out now but in future, I'll just pump the brakes with no front tyre in until the pads touch, then separate the pads which for me, flushes the small air bubbles out of the master. I did this a few times in a row and it seemed to work.
In all the time of owning this bike, the front brakes have never felt like this.
I also found the pistons in the caliper were very sticky and now move so freely with an overhaul.
Half way through the ride, we stopped and Dave discovered that his clutch lever mount is broken so out with the cable ties. He runs the flag style hand guards but they run a mount from the hand guard to the bar end.
This puts all impacts directly through the clutch and brake handle bar mounts and now he will either be replacing the whole master or (more than likely) making a mount out of metal putty.
