Question how are Chris sale and Adam ottavino able to throw 95-98 when they cross over so much? Shouldn’t that affect them?

They probably compensate with something else.

They probably have hip mobility that allows them to do that. It's probably whats most natural for them and also maximises power output.

Another great video!!! Most pitching coaches only focus on the back leg, great to understand after weve created this power how to transfer it up the kinetic chain. As always, thank you.

Fantastic video. 3 minutes into the video and I had learned a few things I need to work on. By the end I have a checklist.

I watched this before my outing today and changed my front foot strike to what is explained in the video. I was 79-82 T84 before the video after my outing today i was 84-85 with more run on my 2 seam. AMAZING VIDEO!!

Question: I see some pitchers line up their foot with the plate, and some players who have their foot closed to the plate. When I try this I feel like it’s locking my post-throw momentum (meaning it shouldn’t have much of, if any, affect on the throw’s power, please correct me if I’m wrong) forward and is putting extra strain on my forward hip. I prefer to have my foot open, pointing outwards so that my momentum carries across my body easier. I’m not sure if this affects power in a negative way, it doesn’t feel like it does (I don’t have a radar gun to test it). In fact I’d say it aids in the flow of my motion and therefore allows slightly more power. I should mention that I’m talking purely about front foot angle, and not the leg’s position. I’d love to hear your input.
