I cross my arms. Left hand at right shoulder and right hand at left shoulder. No issues. I used to keep it like his in the video, but too risky on the wrist.
Coach Eugene Tao on RU-vid said that if you can't hold the front squat position because of mobility or two finger strength, use lifting straps. Hope that helps as well.
Don’t be afraid to stay at lighter weight and get your wrists adjusted to holding a front rack for your first couple sessions front squatting because it’s a position your arms/hands probably haven’t been in ever
I can’t do theses when I get into position and do it free with no bar my shoulder is fine but as soon as I put the bar I get a pinch in my shoulder on my right side. But not on other workouts
I broke my right wrist trying this and now I cannot lift until I heal. I usually back squat 205 for reps but I tried this with 115 pounds and my wrist felt a pop and I found out it broke.
I've nevef tried them. Seems like it would hurt your shoulders if using any real weight unless you have some serious mass. Maybe I should try them though as regular squats are irritating my hip I think. I've been doing hacks instead and switched from reg dead to sumo, but pain is still there. I just started seeing a chiropractor and he thinks it could be a pinched nerve in the low back that makes it feel like the outer hip is hurting. IDK, the pain seems worse after two visits and I even skipped deads this week. I did do some low back machine and my normal 2 sets of hacks. I wonder if I'll have to put those on hold for a few weeks too? I hate to as I seem to finally be gaining some weight.
