Yes, me too. This was me in the video at 11 years old. It was my first and last visit to the park. I still remember everything about it. Really love your channel btw, have been watching since you started.

The Thompson Family comes to mind, such a great Amusement Park went there a few times whilst on holiday up in Blackpool 👍

It makes me smile how the caption says "Summer" then everyone in the footage is wearing wet weather ponchos or carrying umbrellas. Good old British weather, My favourite ride was the cable car which took you out of the park and across the road before looping back.

We went to Frontier land in about 1981/2 and i went on the big wooded roller coaster and it crashed while i was on it .They were running 2 and we were waiting to go , when the other coasters brakes didnt work and it ploughed into the back of us . Lots of cuts and broken bones . I walked away with a really sore back and neck , with my Mum in tears , yet in those days we never even thought of suing .

I was only young when Frontierland was open (about 5 or 6 when I went) and still have vivid memories of gong and there, and this only brought back more, like the monster cart and the accompanying siren sound!

Wow this brings back good memories anybody remember the funhouse where you had to Texas drop and the Catherine wheel where everyone used to run and clamber on top of each other and then it used to spin tell everyone was off.

Hold the fort Ladles and Jellyspoons. Rumour has it that the park is being eyed for a revamp and reopening. Should do well with Blackpool Pleasure Beach progressively falling flat on its arse since switching to a lacklustre Pay Per Entry rip-off. Would love it if Frontierland and Morecambe in general had a boon, with visitors swamping the place in droves as a preferred pocket-and-family-friendly destination for a day by the sea. I always have a warm glow to see greed get it comeuppance. It's invigourating.

My dad worked here for a Couple/few years. I was around 7/8 years old. 1994/95. I would get free entry to the park and ride all rides as much as I wanted. I met lots of people and learned many things here. Great childhood memories.

Was there in August 1986. Stayed at a BnB called Scott House, maybe because my brother's name was Scott. Also full of Scots. We got a week's pass for the fair and strangely had our hand/arm stamped with a marker. Don't know if the fair changed between 1986 and 1994, but I remember the rollercoaster, but not most of the other rides shown.

That runaway mine cart ride was pretty scary cos the two axles were right at the back of the cart, so on the tight turns it felt like you were going to shoot off the track.

I was in a kids home near here and we went for a daytrip. I broke into one of the kiddie's rides and used the money to run away

is it true what some say that the closure of this park wrecked tourism to Morecambe?
@silents9074
@silents9074 Год назад
Partly. Closure of the fairground & Bubbles (Can't think what it was called before that. had a wicked wave machine though) The Central Pier burning down and anything Lancaster city council gets its hands on is doomed. A once great little town. I was born in Morecambe in the 70s so grew up through the 80s and 90s. Breaks my heart to see what it has become.

@@silents9074 Lancaster City council is garbage. Weeds everywhere, non-jobs galore and pointless agendas.

No. That was an impromtu rendition of When I'm 63. Same tune as When I'm 64, but with a few different notes. Or so the story goes.

It was much better in the late 1960s early 1970s. The diamond horseshoe. Inbl the go karts the mad mouse the dodgems ? And all the stalls I thought frontier land was crap x

That's because it had to compete with the other fairground Morecambe had until 1986,the one at the back of the Winter Gardens which was referred to as the Little fair with this one one here being the Big fair.
@dave0smeg
@dave0smeg Год назад
@@stephenduncan3605 I used to ride the go-karts at the little fair and the Cyclone at the big fair. Wasn't the same when it re-badged and got a new fun house. My father was one of the painters of the new fun house and I got to play on many of the inside when the place was empty a few times.

Not as good as the 60's and 70s, bring back the go-carts. The bingo in the diamond horseshoe club and all the fun of the fair,the piers,crazy golf in at the baygolf,trampolines,unfortunately unfortunately time moves on I'm 65 been going there since 1964 great memories ❤❤❤❤❤😢
