Frsky R-XSR receiver Binding issues FIX! ( Taranis QX7 ACCST)

I ordered 3 of these receivers and 1 came with my Nazgul 5. None of them would pair. The issues is firmware related. This may be applicable to other radios and frsky receivers as well...butI cannot confirm. In a nutshell, anything firmware version 2.xx and up will not work. We will walk through an overview of the issue, I will show you what the issue looks like, and then we will fix it and try again! A side note is that the XJT module is internal in my radio. If I understand correctly, this can be flashed separate from the radio. If the firmware on the XJT module is a certain version, version 2.xx WILL work. Please reference the forum link.

RECENT FIX: I had a similar issue I found also in the comments is that this didn't work for me also. When you save the file from the FrSky website, you also need one for your transmitter. Once you get a version that is applicable for both your transmitter and receiver (I did 2.1.0) upload those folders into the SD card. From your transmitter, go into a setup and read the SD like in the video. Do it for your receiver, and then unplug all the wires and run the other folder for your transmitter. It should say something like "Flash Internal/external Module" and you'll want to run one of those (I forget which). Make sure when you upload your versions, you make sure both your transmitter and your receiver are the same one, either FCC or LBT. If you choose LBT make sure your Transmitter can handle it. If not, download OpenTX and make it so that it can use EU which is the format needed for LBT.

Thank you!!! You just solved all my issues. I still don't understand why I cannot get this to bind with ACCESS Firmware with my ACCESS QX7 but atleast now I can use my receiver.

Holy crap....I just spent about 4 hours trying to figure out why my R-XSR wouldn't bind to my QX7. I updated my transmitter, tried different firmwares for the receiver, nothing worked. Followed your video step by step and it bound almost immediately. Thank you!

To anyone who still can't get their receiver to bind you can try flashing your radio aswell, like i needed to do. Even if it works without flashing the transmitter it can still be good to do. Anyways, great video it really helped out!

Tried all steps with my Taranis QX7 access . And still no luck . I still get all solid lights . Downloaded t he latest firmware for RXSR and works when flashing but when I go to hold bind and power on . Still same lights .

Right. But if my Turnigy radio doesn't have the port to flash receiver, I'm stuck, and either have to beg someone to flash it for me or buy new receiver or radio. Is there some usb adapter out there that allows to update receivers?

I just received a Rekon FPV Rekon5. I also have the Frisky X-xsr receiver. Receiver shows all three lights. Also transmitter will not read SD card. I'm 10 hours in and no closer to a solution. Any way you can help?????????

You have to download the 2.1.0 version irsm internal module firmware to match the receiver in 2.1.0

I just got a iflight nazgul5 v2 4s. Same reciever and same qx7. Not binding. Also on beta flight im getting a error message reading "rx loss cli msp" green and blue solid light with a red flashing light on reciever. Could this be this same issue or a faulty reciever. Very new to the hobby. Struggling

Check the pins on your flashing harness. Make sure ground and power aren’t reversed

@@ryannicholson9447 if it worked before with the same cable, it should also work now. Isnt that so? Flashing an rxsr doesnt magically rewire my cables

@@Derederi no but flashing can redirect circuits within the flight controller. Also the flashing only works if your Taranis has compatible fw version as the version youe flashing

@@ryannicholson9447 yes it seems you are correct, it did redirect shit. I flashed my R-XSR to 1.9 version. Now it binds, but the signal strenght on the QX7 disappears every 5 seconds. It does react to stick movement nonetheless. Wicked!

My taranis just shuts off whenever I try to flash my receiver (Shuts down when its starting to reset the receiver). Anybody know why it does this? Can't find any help on google...

Did this and now red and green are on solid when I power up in bind mode and red flashes when I power up normally. No blue whatsoever. Tried a couple times doing the same as the video, only difference being I didn't create a rec flash profile. Is that really necessary? Or am I doing something else wrong? This is my first time messing with receiver or transmitter firmware

There is no blue because you are in CPPM mode, you can escape this and revert back to SBUS by holding down the button on your receiver while it is on for about 10 seconds. You know if you did it right if the blue light flashes 3 times. Reset the receiver with power and it should be back in SBUS.

I would make sure all the solder points on the rx and fc are good and also check to make sure the antennas are seated firmly.

Do you have insight on not being able to flash the rsxr through the s port? I get the device reset but then it doesnt follow through with the writing. Any suggestions?
