I bought the Flying Iron one yesterday as it is on sale at the moment. And it was cheaper than this one. I do like a nice early Spitfire though and hope that Flight Replicas do well with their model.
Well, gotta say, having Both Aeroplane Heaven, and and Flying Iron models, this one for myself certainly has more somewhat to be desired, BUT now that i have this? at least i will see others that use it, in sim real time though. I won't eject it from my sim for that reason alone :) THAT! and because i have purchased this on Marketplace Via PC, then at least i can fly this spit, on xbox s too as a backup \o/. Who knows what updates may come in the future though? if any... Much Thanks for this quick review Huddison fella ;) Regards to you and yours... I would throw up 10 thumbs for this video but, sadly i only contain two, or is it three? xD
I purchased this on day 1 simoly because it was a MK1 spit, and i uave to say im jot disappointed at all. Any issues that were raised with the dev were promptly acknowledged and dealt with. The models visually are witout a doubt simply stunning! Faultless. Flight mechanics were ok, but after a chat with the devs it was improved ten fold in the last update and is an absolute joy to fly. In comparison to the AH one, this wins hands down. Internally, externally, much better. Absolutely worth a purchase and i cannot wait for the MkV to drop.
Flying iron is great, many reviews prefer it, especially since the big update they did several months back, maybe a year back, I can't remember, cardiac arrest can do that to you lol.
It didn't seem to have the wing drop on take off, or perhaps that's just me. It's good to see the propellor keeps running as it cuts into the grass after landing! :)
It's not the most authentic of Spitfire recreations, but it might be a good option for those who struggle with the FlyingIron/Aeroplane heaven versions.
Seems very generic and low fidelity in terms of flight model and audio compared to the other options. When you consider the Flying Irons Spitfire is currently a similar price on the marketplace in the Black Friday sales, and then compare the additional features you get in that including engine wear simulation, tablet, gps, basic autopilot, as well as the much higher fidelity across the board... It's hard to see this as a great purchase. That doesn't mean it's a terrible aircraft for the money... just that it can't really compete with what's already out there...
@@Huddison no it’s after I take off and level out the plane… if I fly straight it’s like it wants to pull up for a loop without me even touching the controls so I have to constantly hold the stick down to stop it from climbing altitude on its own 🫤
sorry - old mate -- I did buy this - and also have the other 2 - comparison with the FI model is a waste of time as it it as a totally different aircraft - MK1 to MkIX - and yes it is the same almost to the AH version - except the engines maybe ----the earlier spits were not fitted with the famous Merlin engine - actually the RR C version so don't look for the cracking inverted carburetor etc Flight replicas have accepted the engine sounds are not quite right and are making mods As far as the flying is concern - at 88 - I am getting more pleasure in messing about in this bird than the others especially taxying and landings - The ground loop is correct and so are the tip up brakes
Great to hear a different perspective on this and thanks for the additional information. As I mentioned: the flight model of this one may suit some peoples' tastes; particularly if they found the other spit variants difficult to fly.
TAH !! - have you noticed the proliferation of adverts for Blackpool on U-tube - since your videos a few weeks back You might have upset somebody😉- even though you were right - She's not the same as was when I was a kid !
