In this experiment will look at the Yaesu FT-991A USB mode audio passband bandwidth and compare with the DATA-USB mode bandwidth. For more articles and information please make sure to check my website www.va3hdl.com
My FT-991A shows a very visible passband of 3000 hertz wide in DATA-U mode and although it widens to 3200 hertz in the settings in USB mode it still only receives 3000 hertz wide. I can use either Digital Master 780 along with Ham Radio Deluxe or FLDigi and FLRig for digital modes except for FT8 mode that I use WSJT-X for along with JT Alert for WSJT-X and JS8 Call mode that has it's own software app. I'm not sure why your rig is showing only 1500 hertz bandpass in DATA-U mode unless you have the bandwidth set to that in the digital mode software your using or the radio control software you're using because there is no difference at all in the receive bandwidth on my FT-991A whether I'm in DATA-U or USB mode.
