Thank you for the information. To repair your radio, you need to get hold of the firmware files. Or Find the sequence of buttons to do a master reset . On the very old radios like yours, you are talking about I don’t believe they were firmware upgradable but good luck my friend
It can be a bit complicated, but I love my FT1XD (bought another) and sold the FT2D. Love the full key pad, dual band, wide receive, digital, great little old HT. 73 and Cheers!
Yes, it is a bit complicated, but I think that is because of the cramped multiple features on such a small screen. But if you take your time and eliminate features which are self explanatory. The rest becomes clearer 73 David and thanks
This was my first HT. Great little radio. I haven’t used it in a while though. Would love a video taking a deeper dive into the radio and all its functions.

The D7 was an excellent handheld. I had 2 of them (I had more money than sense back then lol) but it was let down by not having a built-in GPS. I remember walking around with the D7 in one pocket and GPS in another. The GPS was bigger than the radio 🙄 I think the Yaesu handhelds have more useful features overall. 73 de G0TVJ
