Welcome to this video where we break in the Nitro Engine of the FTX Torro which is fitted with a FORCE 18 Sized engine. Ideal for beginners, this easy to follow tutorial will get your new shortcourse truck broken in in no time! I follow the standard 5 tank break in process that I have covered here on the channel many times.

Have an ftx carnage (got about 5 years ago) and it was total trash, everything broke, steering suspension, spur gear etc, however the force 18 engine is bombproof, razzed that thing for ages and it never let me down.

hey do you have to do the break in in one day or can you just do the first 2 tanks in one day and the last 3 the second?

Gr8 video as usual. I wonder why many people advised to do circular path while breaking in engines. Any idea?

Partly to put a bit more load on the engine And also just to help resist the urge of going flat out! might be another reason but not sure

... Where can I find the parts to make mine a nitro setup?! I have the Brushless version of the (I'm guessing) North American version: Laegendary Nitro - which is also the FTX Zorro or the ImexRC Samurai.. either way, I WANT IT!

It hasn't been used much, but just like any other nitro they can be fiddly, unreliable, but GREAT fun :)

Hi josh I’ve commented on a couple of your other vids I wa shuts hoping to ask could you break it in and bash it in the same day ? Like on and off 9 tanks running in then a bash when cooled down keeping it not to hot as I don’t have a temp check

can you use 10 percent nitro fuel on these engines? i have a load of the stuff for airplane engines. will there be any noticable drops in performance?

You can, but yes there will be a big noticeable drop in performance, on this .18 engine it would probably be OK

I didn't read all the comments to see if this has been mentioned yet and I'm commenting this @01:39 so idk if you're going to mention it but how long do the tanks last from full to empty when you're breaking them in like the first 2 tanks ?

The first tank is idling which can last over 20 mins. beyond that the driving tanks can last 8-10 mins

Could you achieve the same result by putting the car on a stand and using the throttle trim?

You can achieve the same result many ways . Interestingly Kyosho now offer the Neo 3.0 in a "Up and ready" option which means they have broken it in at the factory, the whole process is done on a stand without the wheels on! For this method though it wouldn't really work, you wouldn't want a continuous full throttle with wheels off the ground for example would blow the engine up!

It's the same car, when they first released it it was called the Torro. Then for some reason they changed it to Zorro

For a brand new engine out from box, do we need to use heat gun warm up the engine before do the first break in?

For these RTR type engines you don't "need" to, but some say that it lessens the strain on the new engine thus breaking it in better. I've never had an issue not doing it, and not seen a benefit by doing it. I'd say if you have the option of pre heating then do it, it won't do any harm

Ooh BTW any ideal what is the alternative glow plugs we can get for this Kyosho Nitro Tracker? Does OS No. 8 can be use in a summer country like Singapore?

Is that the FTX5556B, FTX55420 or the FTX5542B and, can anybody tell me the difference please? There seems to be a substantial price range.

First one is Brushed electric motor, second one is brushless electric motor, third one is Nitro powered

Hi any tricks to removing a seized cylinder head bolt? I've tried everything even tried heat with a heat gun all it did was snap the allen key. Car keeps seizing when I start it and I need to whip the head off to see what is going on. Thanks

How old is the engine/ what engine is it?

@@TheRCBiker hyper 7 with a .28 you've done a few videos on them. It's only a year old and I broke it in following your videos (I've been following you for a long time lol) it's also only seized at tdc. I've had it apart as much as possible to try free it up. Only thing I cannot remove is the head itself

Spray liberally with WD40, allow to soak. Remove anything that will get destroyed by heat, so I would remove the pull start and one way bearing, air filter, carburettor, and all clutch components. Wrap the engine block in Tin Foil, and put in the oven at 250 for half hour. Remove, and try removing it :)

How come you hardly see any smoke from your nitro ? My nitro smokes a little

There is some smoke, I have just started using a different fuel called "Racing experience" I've noticed it's far less smokey than the Optifuel I was using before :)
