Hi Stephen, Mike from Nampa. Thanks for the video I know it takes twice as long to film as to just fabricate. I appreciate you doing that for us .

Thanks Steve. I've missed your videos.I know you used the hoop from Art Morrison. I'm putting a center section from Welderseries in my 37. It took me.a while to find weld in engine mounts for my L83, but I finally got them. My radiator arrived from Wizard. And while it's a work of beauty, there are some alignment issues. Wizard sent me a prepaid return package so they can make the necessary adjustments. now that's customer service.

Hey Stephen. It's nice to see you back again. That gas filler cap is a cool one. I like the flush look. I watch Fitzee a lot. He has some great ideas on making patch panels. Overall, the filler cap turned out perfect. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

I am subscribed to the Fitzee's Fabrication channel and he really has excellent sheet metal modeling techniques, Ha ha ha ha I marathon all the videos on his channel and did the same on yours, you are a very capricious builder.

Good video. I appreciate all of your tutorials. Restoring a '56 Chevy 3200 big window. I wanted to install a fuel door much like this one.

I watched Fitzee doing that as well. I would like to do that with my 37, but the fenders are so mangled that I'll probably be replacing them. Nobody is making steel fenders for the 37/38 so they'll likely be fiberglass. The rest of the truck is steel and no rust. Lots of fatigue cracks, but those can be welded. Well, there are two little spots of rust on the back of the cab where the floor pan meets the cab wall, but easily repaired and never to be seen.

Do you have any videos on installing the cab to the frame? And why did you use a Ford suspension for your truck?

I see lots of new sheet metal on the back of your truck. I have a 1950 half ton , and want to buy right the first time. Who did you get your parts from? Are you happy with them? Thanks.

Hi Steve, since finding your channel I've gone back and watched your library. I've enjoyed your content and your down to earth show and tell. I have undergone recent knee surgery as you yourself did some time back. I was working on my '36 Chevy 2 door sedan project prior to surgery. Now finding myself with idle hands as I rehab going through the rigorous PT schedule. With mobility at a limit I have chosen to try and bench work small parts, currently working on a steering column I picked up. I was wondering if you might share some details on the original that came out of your truck. I don't have a parts breakdown manual and I would like to figure out what parts the top mast consisted of. Also what brand was the steering wheel you found on ebay? any help would be appreciated

I totally understand the rehab just stay with it, it does get better. the original steering column on my truck was part of the steering box, The shaft inside the column had a gear on the end inside the steering box, my truck had three on the tree so it had another shaft that went down the side of the column for shifting gears I ended up using the original steering column mounting bracket for my new steering column. Both the original and the new steering column are 2 inches in diameter. I got the steering wheel from speedway motors the part number is 91032715 it fits a standard GM column without any adapters and it’s sized for power steering it’s 15 inches in diameter.

Thanks for the your input. I'm going to use this column. The mast is 1-3/4" od with the inner shaft at 3/4". It needs I believe the upper horn bushing to keep the shaft centered. Trying to locate the what I'll need to rebuild the bottom end. I noticed the '40 steering wheel you showed also has splines as the original GM

Good video, Fitzee's cut and butt, works well, i am going to do that on the passenger door skin on the 55, i did the drivers door with the clips, you mentioned where you got the spoon, where did you get the other two dollys, also i always notice the multi placard on your wall, i have one i got from Adak Alaska it has 16 different cards, do you still keep in touch with Steve Lockie

I got the spoon and the body hammers from Eastwood they’re made by Martin tools and yeah I do I talk to Steve and his wife Lynne from time to time, it’s a small world.

Steve how are you going to do the gas pedal
@idahofabricator8710
@idahofabricator8710 3 года назад
The gas pedal is an assembly the engine that I have is a drive by wire system and the pedal came with the wiring harness, it will get mounted on the firewall I’ll have to design some kind of a bracket so I can mount it to the firewall.
