Can the Fuji XF 150-600mm F5.6-8 R LM OIS WR lens be used to take good landscape photography images? Many people will purchase the lens for wildlife photography or sports photography but in this video I head out to take some landscape images using only the XF 150-600mm lens. I also give some tips and things to consider when shooting landscapes with a super telephoto lens.

I looked at the 150-600mm from multiple angles, but I love the 100-400 for its storage compactness and add the 1.4x teleconverter for occasional uses. I guess one more things to deal with 900mm at distance is haze from ambient atmosphere.

Useful information when considering this lens for landscape which is what I was thinking about using this lens for. Not many people giving good examples as you have done. Thanks! Also the cloudy skies is realistic conditions for most of us lol

Thank you very much! I’ve sort of grown to love cloudy skies, we don’t have much choice sometimes! ☁️ 🌫️😄

Thanks for the video! I prefer the first one - the cooler look. I've got a Fujifilm XT4 & their 100-400mm lens (also have their 1.4 TC). I photograph wildlife and birds in Southern Africa so I'm weighing up going for the 150-600mm at some stage. Thanks for the content you've made - especially on this lens - it's been very insightful & informative :)

I LOVE my XF 150-600. I'm only a year into photography so I haven't got my steady hands yet. The tri-pod is my best friend. Goin out to 600 it's sssooo hard to stay focused. Then when you add the 1.4X and the 2.0X??? But even with the Tripod, I have to use the Fuji App to trigger the shutter so I don't move the camera while pressing the button. I also got a Mono-Pod which is nice.

I would keep the second shot (on the right). The only big difference to me is in the warmer tone, like if from 45xx K in WB from the first one you would have reach almost 5000 K in the second, it adds direct light on the subject and a warmer tone. Also, the background forest looks more original because you have two layers of colors, a light green then a darker one.

Thanks Frenkie for sharing your thoughts, some good points there 👍🏻

I liked the 2nd version of 2 trees. The light gave greater definition to the sea of green in the background which really made the picture to pop as well as the rocky outcrop to be better defined. Now, I guess I've missed a couple of months or maybe the summer going back to the Bluebells in May however, have you migrated back to Fuji? If so, was it because of cost, weight, or printing results of your photographs? Always glean something great from your videos!

Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts! If I had to pick I’d go for that image too 👍🏻 Yes I’m using Fuji gear. I wasn’t happy with the available lenses on the other system - for my own situation to get the quality I wanted in a telephoto lens the only available option was simply too heavy and expensive to be viable.

@@WayneRobertsonPhotography I would have to concur with you. I think your decision is a great one and I hope gives you some great results. I know that lens will. I hope you'll take an episode in the coming months to take us on an edit with you for some of your woodland shots. I feel like you offer up some of the very best I view on RU-vid!
