Five years - still all too current - I have been gripped by the callous claws of Leukaemia, drenched by the downpour of subsequent suffering that follows a precarious Stem-Cell Transplant, and still plagued by a healthy dose of these chronic debilitations... Beyond the devotion of supporting loved ones and the saintly NHS, my hope and salvation were found in the writings, and in the lectures of these two venerable gentlemen - as well as the late, great and irreplaceable Christopher Hitchens. So a profound and heartfelt thank you from me.

Hi SGisperski, I feel you, brother, since I am dealing with similar long-term debilitating issues also and have found the same solace in these lofty discussions and lectures. The uplifting effect on one's mind as it is exercised with new and often thrilling thought can make all of it much more bearable, even the unrelenting pain recedes a bit to more manageable levels. Keeping good thoughts for you. Cheers and much love from the US.

I love Stephen Fry, he's like every straight guys favorite gay guy hahaha. I like Sandi Toksvig but QI is very lackluster without him. Sometimes in life, it takes other people to tell you something they notice about you, and i know he has manic depression, but he has got a great spirit, a really strong presence in the world and he'll be remembered for a very long time. I loved QI, and i stopped watching it after he left. He was brilliant in Blackadder, one of the best characters I've ever seen and i think apart from shows, he should be in more films. And he's a big fan of Oscar Wilde who's from Dublin, my town...The quality of my life improves just knowing about Stephen Fry

This is a lesson in ‘How To Speak like Stephen Fry’(Fryspeak). Stephen has a vast vocabulary but he cannot resist bunging in a load of facts whenever he talks while inserting a totally unnecessary amount of nouns into a conversation. I spotted ‘Fryspeak’ and until I had therapy, was accused of having mild symptoms of ‘Fryspeak ‘ myself. Once you spot someone ‘Fryspeaking’, you will chuckle. He is the type of thing he does. This is a lesson in ‘How To Speak Fry’ or ‘Fryspeak’ for Beginners’ FRY: I woke up this morning, from my slumber, quiescent doze, dormancy or sleep in my bedroom, chamber and decided to go to the shop, store, mini-market or indeed boutique. The shop owner, marketer nee purveyor of this fine establishment, emporium, a veritable cabinet of curiosity, a Wunderkammer which can be seen, or observed, at Pitt River’s museum, and I looked or perused at the goods, items from China-China, of course, invented gun powder and fireworks which Guy Fawkes used in an attempt to blow up parliament and writing, although the writing has been cited to Dispilio Tablet (Greece) and Tărtăria tablets (Romania) and I noticed the time- from the sexagesimal system of time measurement dates to approximately 2000 bc from the Sumerians. I then... ME : ( Interrupting ) Stephen, Did you remember the teabags which is why you went to the shop in the first place? FRY: Oh, no I forgot...oh bollocks......... ... gonads, testes, pudenda, balls, and prairie oysters etc... (FADE )...... cojones , nuts, goolies knackers, cullions....

A fabulously intriguing conversation by two sometimes playfully dwarfian giants! I think that it all depends on the result, whether science, religion, atheism, yada, yada. All tools for the journey of each and every individual. I do not know if Mr. Fry was ever a Christian but I understand that the hypocrisy of doctrine and dogma set him on a different path. Mr. Krauss found his journey through the more complicated path of quantum physics and all kinds of science. I don't agree with everything that their journeys concluded but I hope that they haven't yet reache the peak of their climb. In the end, I believe it's about how any belief effects how one interacts with life. But then again without the twisties of dogma and doctrine, war, plague, suffering, etc., how would we gauge all the good. The world continues to spiral in every direction and the controversial and hypocritical nature of everything is beautiful in its entirety. I paddle board and have reaally good balance. I can jump high off of the backs of whales and grasp up at the stars. But if it's too slippery and I fall, there is another underworld of discovery waiting for me in the depths of the indigo.
