Flyeo Fundamentals: Full Brake Range
Most beginners only use the top part of the brake range, but actually what gets most people in trouble is not fully releasing back to zero brakes.
This doesn't mean that you should "hands up" in every situation, but for sure it's important to know when and how to use your 100% brakes and your 0% brakes.

for me, this is the most important thing for a paraglider pilot: to fully comprehend the brake range and how and when to use it... thanks for sharing

A lot of brake to stall it, only a little to stay in it 👌🙏

I wonder if when Paraglider is out of trim, is it ok to use speed bar when released brakes is not enough to leave parachutal.

Please send it to specialist to trim it and check it, before next flight. Don t relay on pushing speed or taping A lines for exit if you know you have out of trim glider. It is like asking can I stop the car Flinstons stile because my breaks are busted!!!

Yes, I've head of this being a possibility, but like @PristovAnze said, it is imperative to make sure gliders that are that much out of trim are not flown. But again, if for whatever reason you're stuck in parachutal with your hands up it's good to know to do something rather than just accepting your fate!

What a great video. Here's a question I hope you can answer. I am a new pilot I saved up my nickels and sold all my soda bottles and got enough money to buy a used epsilon 9 with a harness, and the lessons. The epsilon 9 company says if you just put your hands up the wing will fly better through turbulence than you can. I'm on the heavy end of the weight range like I have to wear my thin socks and skip breakfast to be in the weight range. You said the magic word the thing that waits for me in The sky. Cascading error. There's no one here to fly paragliders around me. If the epsilon 9 will fly better in turbulence with no brakes, can I just fly with the brake stowed and lean for all my turns and use the brakes when I get down close to the ground and land? I wanted to fly up into the air a long ways and stowe my brake handles. I figured it just lean with all my turns and take pictures measurements things like this. Is all this active flying necessary?

@@markmcgoveran6811 You need to get instruction. Of course you need to keep the brakes in your hands, and use them for turning. What they probably meant is that if you fly straight, its more efficient to fly hands up than try to compensate every little micro bump in the air with the brakes.

@markmcgoveran6811 active flying is 100% necessary and will dramatically increase your safety. But the best thing to do would be to get proper instruction from a reputable school and ask them your questions. It's kind of dangerous to ask those questions on the internet and follow people's advice :)
