I love how you take something simple and make it more satiating. In reality I would have eaten a lot more waffles to get satiated but adding that other stuff really helps. I had a frozen pizza and I applied this idea by adding bell peppers, tomatoes, ham and mushrooms. I was so much more satisfied!

"I just needed a carb" that was such a small part of the video but it means so much to me. Carbs are so demonized in society but you really do need them. As a fat person I always feel guilty for eating carbs even though they're such a necessary part of a healthy diet.

I was so happy to see it. I’m seen several shorts where they “don’t follow food rules” but eat only fruit the whole day. Lately, I’ve been struggling with eating too much sugar so it was a nice reminder to see this balance

u have helped me sooo much i wanted ice cream last night so i only did a serving and added granola, strawberries, and cookie crumbles!!! i would have eaten way more ice cream if i didn’t have all the fixings and it’s all because of the lessons you are teaching. thank you!!!!

I am an ovolacto vegetarian and my husband loves the meats. So we rarely get to share meals at restaurants and i am so jealous of this!

I'm working with intuitive eating/HAES dietician to work on my relationship with food. It's so hard when high cholesterol runs in my family, and having a legit fear of developing high cholesterol again (was 350 at one point). However, it's also legit hard when you are also in a family crisis, and just eating because you know you need to.

I will. Try to eat from natural food sources. What had grown in the garden of the Lord cooked in your kitchen will not make you seek. Ramsey Dewey mormon MMA coach only eats natural, homemade meals and he is fitter than most of the 25 years olds. Even tough he is 45 and lived a rough life

I feel like if I ate this I’d be so fat. It didn’t look like a lot but the sweet lunch and the fries would make me gain or bloat, and hold a few pounds of water. But that must be my genetics. Chronic edema

So, I have a question. When thinking about food in the intuitive eating way, is it okay to get seconds when you’re not necessarily hungry? Like what if you just ate some bomb food and wanted some more?

To my knowledge, yess totally! If I'm not wrong, what is somewhat "required" is to take note of your fullness (like "Okay just checking in with my body, and I don't need the food hunger-wise, but I want it"). And if it ends up being not a great example, because you felt sick or something like that, note that it wasn't the best decision, keep that in mind but don't beat yourself up. Another important factor is that it isn't the influence of some old resisting dieting rules. What it means that, in the situation you've described for example, you would get seconds because of a last meal mentality (= the day is ruined, diet starts tomorrow, etc). Hope that was helpful 😊

Definitely being able to check in with your body and taking a break from eating for a bit to let it send the hunger/fullness cues to your brain helps! If you're hungry after a couple minutes, get more! Even if you're not hungry but you don't feel quite full, you could absolutely still get some more food, but you're not required to finish the plate if you get too full (may take time to learn how to tell, I tend to feel a pressure in my stomach when im completely full and no oressure but also no hunger when I've just barely eaten enough to not be hungry) and if you notice that you feel stuffed, maybe see if you can take some with you to eat when you get home :) You can totally get to a point where you can tell exactly what kind of food your body needs, and what kinds would make you feel sick (though probably not 100% accurately). It just takes time, practice, and experience! Happy dining ❤️

You have a bigger appetite than me, lol! Your BMR must be higher than mine, but that's not saying much. I totally agree with the way you eat, btw! Instead of getting rid of carbs, you just replace them with healthy carbs, proteins, and vitamins! Mad respect

Eat what you want with balance! If you always crave fast food eat it, eventually you won’t crave it as much and you will find a balance between nutritious food and less nutritious foods.

Have you been to the doctor to have your thyroid checked? Have you had PCOS ruled out? Things like that can make it really really hard to lose weight

Maybe it's due to hormones or another reasons.. contrary to what diet culture tries to sell us, there are so many factors that can make you get fat/not loose weight other than eating and exercise.. I don't know you and your health, maybe see your doctor and do scans if you can ? (also hope that you won't get fatphobics doctors because there are some...😢)

There are different reasons you may be struggling with losing weight, if that's what you are trying to do. Diet is a huge part of it, but health is the other portion. You may have a thyroid issue, hormonal issue, etc. or you may not exercise enough or do the kind of exercise your body requires. Each person's body is different, and while intuitive eating for many people is great, it may not be good for someone trying to lose fat who is stagnant. Carbohydrates are used as either energy, or they turn into sugar and get stored as fat. High protein and fat (like the carnivore diet) is great when first trying to lose weight, because it's the way man was supposed to eat, but also its low in carbs, gluten, processed sugars, and processed foods in general. In general, losing weight is doing math. I would start by figuring out your RMR (resting metobolic rate, which is the number of calories your body naturally loses just by existing) and your calorie calculator results. Use a few of them to get an idea of how many calories your body needs to maintain, lose, and gain, and get an app like Lose It! to keep track. Counting calories in order to be in a caloric deficit is generally key when losing fat, and unfortunately, eating high carbohydrates does not work for some people because it is eventually stored as fat if it isnt used for energy. (That is why diets like keto and the carnivore diet were invented, and they have worked for many people.) Most of all, do not beat yourself up. Stress leaves you in an unhealthy headspace and will cause you to give up. If you obsess to the point of starvation mode, or treating it like a diet where you are in too low of a caloric deficit, in other words you aren't eating enough, nothing will help. Stay active and research :) hope this helped

Oh my dear you will have food rules the minute you hit perimenopause and menopause lol😂your body will not allow you to eat all those carbs and that much food without ballooning up your weight almost over night and also bring major mood swings and hot flashes ! You're missing the point of her channel. Also, she's a dietitian. Plus, her method, (intuitive eating) is eating what makes you feel good, which is what she is doing in this video! Your food intake fluctuates day by day, so some days you'll eat less, and some days you'll eat more!
